It is amazing how some people can be fun, witty and pleasant when they drink and some people turn into total BUTTS when they drink. Or maybe it is the full moon? Or maybe it is a personality disorder? Or perhaps allergy to alcohol?

I have no idea. All I know is I have seen some people who drink (supposedly ...according to them) ONE drink or ONE beer and they turn into raving lunatics. For days afterwards even. I do know when I used to drink tequila I would get weird...hence my refusal to drink it IF I drink at all which is pretty rare. I mean, jump on tables weird.

Alcohol just makes me sleepy now. I used to also get jealous when I drank alcohol. I stay away from it. I don't like how I feel the next day, either. I see some people tho that act like fools when they drink anything. The more they drink, the stupider and more reactive they get. Ugh! And these are very nice people I am talking about. Sad!

My father always told me that when I found a man I was interested in...get him drunk. It was one of the most important things I could know about him as soon as possible.

How right both you and he were!

Sage advice.

I really am resisting saying things I sure would like to say. They are reactive things. But if I do it, then I am no different than the ones I am shocked by. Maybe I am growing up. I HAVE been working on anger issues. Seems it has done some good. I can't seem to hold onto anger I get to feeling. And that my friends, is a GOOD thing!

Alcohol brings out the "true nature of the beast"... be it more open or bad. I have seen too many down sides to alcohol to be able to find any good that comes from a bottle. If you can't be yourself sober...why bother?

Alcohol brings out the "true nature of the beast"...

I have over 25 years serving drinks...It affects each and every person differently. Some turn into asses, some turn into angels.
I know one thing for sure, you don't learn what a person is really like by seeing them drunk, you only learn what they are like when they are drunk and that could be anything.
It could bring out a freedom to do something they wouldn't do because they are bashful, insecure, fearful...you name it.
It can be an excuse to do anything.
It can bring out anger that isn't really there, it only exists due to the drinks. It can bring out sexual desires that are real or only there because of the booze.....I could go on forever like I have started too bottom line, it is someone under the influence of a drug, just like any other drug.
And everyone is oh so different.
Could you imagine running a business where everyone was drunk?
oh yeah, that would be a nightmare
It is another planet we are on when drinking, no one is expected to behave

I don't really agree with that, Gr8t. I have read it releases inhibitions so that if violence is IN someone, they often will be more likely to express it when under the influence. But I honor your beliefs. I just feel that the inhibition releasing part is more likely to be true. I may be wrong tho.

Methinks I agree with Spiritenergy. Reduces inhibitions....if you're "holding back" anger, buttheadnesses, depression, or whatever, it'll come out when you drink.

I make it a hard & fast rule to only drink when I'm in a "basically good mood", already.

I only know from my family experiance. My mother started out being a fun-week-end party girl. When she started crossing that invisible line into Alcoholism she became abusive, violent, unreasonable etc. She once shot her boyfriend and then took him to the hospital afterwards. She threatened to "blow my fuvkng brains out if I didn't turn out the light", seriously, this is real. She actually held the gun up to my head. And she was serious. I know alcohol is a drug and every body has a different tolerance level. I also know some use is as an excuse to act as they normally wouldn't. Later my mom died in a car wreck when I was 16 years old.

My ex, was an alcololic. He would get smashed out of his gourd on 4 beers. If he was drinking liquor, he was extreamly violent towards me.
