Luckily the pendulum swings,

to remind us that change is inevitable-

I might otherwise believe

things might mean to be

the way they are,

that our problems are unsolvable.

Luckily the pendulum swings

away from where its been,


so that history may repeat itself

or not end up where it began.

Luckily the pendulum swings

toward a higher place than this-

or our vision might be limited

even more so than it is.

Luckily the pendulum swings,

for there is life in change-

All dies in it's redundancy

when it stays the same.
