I got this in an email from a friend of mine. I do not think it is her work. A different way of seeing things, I have to admit...
Heavenly Father,
Help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the dishes & laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children.
Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, desinterested young man who can't make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester.
Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares.
Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savouring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together.
Heavenly Father, remind us each day that, of all the gifts you give us, the greatest gift is love. It is not enough to share that love with those we hold dear. Open our hearts not to just those who are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love.
Working for God on earth doesn't pay much......but His retirement plan is out of this world. Yes, different view!

Thanks Beth for posting that and putting things back into the perspective to which they belong. If everyone could see like this, the world would be a better place. But since I don't want to control everyone, I will control me and begin to ask God to work on me once again.
Kudos.

and thank you Lord, for taking from me, all that I once viewed as important. For in this act of love, I will never look at the man on the corner with the sign saying I will work for food, the same. You have taught me the gift of humbly receiving, in a time of need, and through this, I learned the greatest gift, that You freely have given, for all to recieve! Slowly You have helped me rebuild. But through Your eyes, I now see a world in need. That in giving, I now shall always remember, when I was in need!
That was awesome SE! Thank you for posting this!
How quick we judge, in our ignorance!

Yeah, I try to put ME in the person's place that did the cutting off. I can be a crazy driver but I take care while doing it. I think of MY excuse for driving like a maniac. Then, often... I suddenly admire how well they drive while driving like a maniac.
It seems to put it all into perspective when I look at them the way I look at my own doings. I tend to excuse it faster.

That blog is so true. I often get looks when I go someplace with my son. He has long beautiful hair, he kinda looks like Jesus and sometimes looks like an Indian lol, People often judge him but he's soft spoken and the kindest person you'd ever meet. A cross between Tim McGraw if he has a cowboy hat on and a rapper if he's singing lol, but always polite and will open a door for a lady. So don't judge a book by it's cover, you might miss out on a good story. Take care Lost
