This seems to be the one place in MD where it seems that almost everyone is not happy with how it works.
It appears I am not alone in enjoying reading the blogs by all the great writers in here along with jokes and poems.
I just like it that way. I enjoy finding a joke or a poem as I stroll thru the blogs.
If I just wanted to read jokes, I could buy a book or find one of millions of joke sites on the internet. Or go to the MD joke forum.
Same with poems, there are books I can buy or poem sites by the million and of course the MD poem forum.
But I myself can only read so many jokes before I tire of them. Poems? Same thing, I like to read a few and then I want something else.
I am sure there are some that only enjoy reading poems and have no interest in jokes and vis versa and I suspect they stay in the joke and poem forums.
Blogs to me are the same, I read some but then I want something different.
If dinner was just the one course everyday, I would tire of it. But it includes salad, bread, veggies, meat, drink, dessert, a little bit of everything. That is what I like about the blog section, it has blogs, jokes, poems and all sorts of things.
Would it be too bizarre to have a forum called "Blogs"?
The mods and some of the bloggers have explained how some "blogs" are not blogs and therefore should be posted in the appropriate "forum" but how about setting up a forum called "Blogs"?
Yes, I am attempting to put a square peg in a round hole, but wouldn't that solve most of the issues and leave the "Blog" section as a sort of smorgasboard, where so many of us that like a little variety and come and play?
Come to think about it, if I were on a date I would sure like the date to include talking about more then one thing. A relationship built only on jokes or poems or talking about issues in a blogging manner sure would get old fast.

You have a great point Gr8 lol. I think ppl should sit back and realize what makes blogs fun? It's the idea that someone reads them and maybe comments. It's the socializing, whether you want to date or not. Otherwise, you'd just sit home and write to yourself right? So you come to a site like this, write down your idea, thought, joke, whatever, share it with someone, and maybe they will reply, or not, but at least you shared it. You might have made their day, or not, but it's socializing just the same. It's a mix match of it all. If it was all about just reading what someone wrote, we'd sit home and read a book. It's perhaps being able to reply or not to someone we might know or get to know. It's become a family, like another blog mentioned. Anymore thoughts on this? Take care Lost

Someone just emailed me and mentioned that they had gotten an email from someone that pointed out that they were only in MD to write blogs. I have seen that on many profiles stating that they are not here to date, they are married, dating or just plain old not interested, but that they are only here to write in the forums or blogs.
What about those of us still seeking someone 
Why on earth are they filling up the blogs on this dating site with their works when the majority of us in here are looking to meet someone single   And on top of that, they complain about joke and poem writers.....what the???
Wouldn't some blogging site be more apropos? At one of those sites they wouldn't have to deal with jokes, poems, A-holes and what not
uh ohhhhhh, now I have done it, I hope I have not teed off any friends

I'm thinking that, maybe, this site is here to please everyone...AND, some people are only pleased when they can complain
I hear ya, OP, but, since we can't do anything about it, I simply prefer to ignore them and go on. Hey, if their writing is good, I'm not really against taking a moment to read it. If it's something I don't like, I simply ignore and go on to the next.
Hey, I didn't ignore you, huh...that must mean that I liked what you said. AND, I sent ya a kudo, too. By the way, you're welcome to read anything I write....I'm DEFINITELY not married, or here just for the forums....but, I AM a published writer.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, YIKES!!! Where to start....where to start........ 
If they started a 'blog forum' just for what some people here feel are true blogs, that would mean we'd have to enter the forums all the time to read all our favorite peoples' blogs! Don't make me do it!!! Otherwise, the people who write blogs in the suggested 'blog forum' could always copy/paste their blogs back here, as well. Oh, wait........that would put us all right back here, wouldn't it? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........silly, silly me. I give up.  
Personally, I like it the way it is, and you said it perfectly!

Variety is the spice of life and a lot of people here do participate in a variety of things.
There are some however who are like flies on $hit, same old, same old. 
Here we call it flogging a dead horse.
It amazes me how many people come here making statements of this type, who don't actually participate in anything, other than statements of this type.
This is directed at people who make statements of this type without participating in anything else and not the author.

I suggest you list the recent 50 blogs, then remove those by people who aren't looking for a dating partner. Would what is left really make you want to come back to good ole MD ?
Also, a wise man once advised us that it is best to be off with the old before getting on with the new. Many people, particularly females, ignore his advice, and have a landing place selected well before they leap out of an ebbing relationship. Thus, there are many forms of "looking".
Did I miss an add by the mods for cops or bloghounds ? I choose to read all blogs by some authors, and none by others. Most are hit or miss reading. My Choice, that's what the mouse is for !
My choice would be to remove really DUMB blogs from here, except that some would put me on the eradication list on that score, so I think it best to let it remain as it is.
Anyone who wishes to improve MD should do so by doing the work to write some excellent blogs themselves, and some comments and forum lines as well. As one guy told the pope about birth control, "You no play the game, you no make the rules".

Should you open up a "blog" in the "forums" I may be able to find it after I weed through all the rest.
Blogs here are too one sided for me.
