Sometimes, as we stumble along through this experience called life, we may happen upon an opportunity to meet someone exceptional. But, if we are not paying attention enough to notice and take advantage of such an opportunity, it will not happen. We almost allowed that grand opportunity to pass us by, simply because we had accepted our fate of being alone and had become complacent with our life as it was.

But we knew better. Sure we did! From the very first time we read each others profiles, over a year ago, we knew there could be a strong connection there. Oh sure, we can say that the timing was off and the distance was bad. Hell, we can make all sorts of excuses and many of us do just that. But, the point is, as soon as we started talking, it was very evident that there was a strong connection between us.

We noticed that we are a bit different, in some ways. But, as we talked, we quickly came to realize that we are overwhelmingly the same in all the ways that count most for us in a close relationship. We’ve become very close friends and also quickly became great companions. Everything else followed naturally because we are both also affectionate adults.
