Would you expect Barack Obama to show up at the Inauguration wearing high-top sneakers? Of course not. Maybe the thought of Robin Hood wearing penny loafers would disturb you? It would me. Perhaps the clothes make a man... Depends. I would like to think clothes don't "make me" and that I'm who I am regardless how I'm dressed. A few months ago, I was having lunch at an outside cafe in the Hollywood area. On weekends it's known to have many locals from all walks of life. Bikers to BMW'ers all share the roadway, restaurants and scenic spots along Hollywood Boulevard and US-1. After the meal, I had to get back to the office... so I said my good-byes and headed for my car. It was then, I heard the unmistakable sound of a 'hog'... you know, a 'Heavy-Metal Motorcycle' probably a custom Harley going 'chucka-chucka-chucka' as it's pony-tail, leather clad driver is creeping his way through traffic.
Instead of finding a 'bearded biker' I turned to find "Mister Shoe Salesman" riding a custom bike instead ! Actually, he looks like my insurance guy.
WTF?? I started to laugh at the sight of this and said "Something is really wrong here..." it was camera-time and I snapped these shots at the red light.

LOL... This is truly funny and a testament to the differences within all of us. I spent many of my younger years living in, Laconia, New Hampshire. It is the staging grounds for the oldest bike rally in the country. Anyways, I used to sell T-shirts at these rallies when I was a young teen and meeting the bikers; Hells Angels, Bandito's, etc...It struck me as interesting that many I would meet, thinking them mere bikers, hard from the lifestyle. Only to find that many were, doctors, Corp. Exec's...funny how people are many times, nothing like the first appearance that one would think. Thanks for sharing...the pics were great!! Peace, Tobey

Chat, I see this every day....Down here, in Florida, is The Villages, a large, famous retirement community. They have a Motorcycle Club, the Nomads, FILLED with retired CEO's, lawyers, bankers, executives and many others. Yes, they wear the leathers, AND their helmets, but not many long beards, braids, etc. that we have come to associate with "bikers".
These people have done sooooo much for the community...all kinds of causes. There's nothing so heartwarming as to see a Nomad, coming down the street, laden with a huge plastic bag of stuffed toys and teddy bears, headed for one of the hospitals or other worthy causes. They are featured in the local paper regularly and really enjoy playing with their "toys" now that they have all the time in the world to do so.
More power to them...It's a wonderful sight. Many times I wished that I had my camera along to "memorialize" the scene.
Fondly,
KK
