I used to joke about my property looking like a Gypsy camp. It was true. I had a concession trailer that was decorated in an Art Neuveau style and I had more stuff stored outside than inside since I had just begun building. I come by it honestly though. My Dad was a pipeline welder so I had lived in 27 states and Canada before I was 5 years old. I mostly grew up in Plainfield, Illinois except for a half year in Morgantown, Indiana. Family summers were spent in Mississipi or Colorado so my life was at least varied. After leaving home I lived in Cedarville Ohio; Kalamazoo, Brighton, and Holly Michigan; Durango, Berthoud, Englewood, and Commerce City Colorado; Huntsville, Alabama; Gulfport and Mize, Mississippi, Elkins, Springdale, Pea Ridge, Lowell, Rogers, Hot Springs, and Ft Smith Arkansas but for the last 4 years my home has been just north of Pea Ridge, AR in Washburn Missouri. I chose Northwest Arkansas as the place I felt was best in the Central part of the South back in the mid 80's because I felt it was a good place to raise kids and it offered a good economy with steady growth along with excellent nature and outdoor recreational advantages. Nobody told me about how nasty the chiggars could be or how many copperheads there are but I have managed to steer clear of the ones that are still alive. Too bad about the ones I could not steer clear of! Some days I wake up and think about selling my place and moving someplace completely new but I can't think of a better place offhand, nor do I have anyone to move to or with.. For now I'm gonna stick around here just to pester my kids.
