can not imagine how it would be to have your moment of glory, blundered for the world to see. Obama handled it with grace. But as normal, the news media took it and ran with it.
I can not imagine how humiliating it was to have made the mistake for all the ears to hear. At least, the "do over" was in a warmer setting.
Now I am thinking, what other "do overs" should have happened?
I am thinking Bush would have taken more public speaking classes. Instead, forever to be remembered as the stammering President.
Clinton would probably remember to have a tissue handy at any given moment. We know he has a memory problem also since he could not remember that incident. He might not have inhaled, but I am pretty sure he has finally exhaled.
Ford will probably learn how to duck coming out of airplanes. Ok, not all of us can be graceful all the time.
Carter would possibly send his drunk brother to some island for four years. Billy Beer would never have been manufactured, junk yards would still be exposed.
Who does not want a do over or two? If I could "do over", I would like to see baggy pants on guys never happen. First, I like the mystic of "boxers or briefs". Second, some men have booties that needs to be appreciate by women. Put a man in wrangler,, and he has caught my eyes!
I would instill in women, just because they make it in your size, does NOT mean you should wear it and one size does not fit all. Shoulder pads would just be to give soft fabics a stronger foundation, not make you look like a football player.
The "grunge" look would never have been "in style". Since when is greasey hair pretty?
"Like" Valley girls would have never gotten on our last nerve.
The curly perms aka "brillo perms" flattered no one.
The "mullet" would not have been a fashion statement, business in the front, party in the back. Oh wait.... there are people that has not realized its out of style!
Do over..dont do over, nothing and no one is perfect. Let's just roll with the flow!

Apparently, this has happened twice before...I didn't know that Chester Arthur and Calvin Coolidge also have "do overs," so this isn't a precedent.

A little CYA was apparently REAL HIGH on Baracks To Do List?
Jeesh....NOT comforting AT ALL. Even worse? The media gave it a HUGE sound bite.
Frankly, I GET THE NECESSITY...I DO NOT understand why EVERYONE need be appraised of it.
(Good Lord, for once HE STUMBLED verbally. Humaness is a reason to CALL THE PRESS?)
And I thought I was "high drama/maintenance.

Like, oh my GAWD! Like, what do you mean that, like, Valley Girls got on your last nerve? Like, it was so totally AWESOME like, back in the 80s when we all had like, this really big hair and like, used so much hair spray we like, put a hole in the ozone!
Whenever I miss the 80s, I play Valley Girl by Frank and Moon Unit Zappa. It brings me back down to earth

Well among other reasons of why his swearing in that will be remembered, he now has another thing to be written in the history books. Something that other Presidents didn't have, so maybe it's good for accidents like this to happen, so you can stand out among the norm. tc Lost

It was the Chief Justice that stumbled and our President caught it and stopped so they could start over. The Chief Justice wasn't reading anything and got the words out of order. It was our President that caught it. If you were watching the event, you could tell what was happening as it happened. I was proud of the President for getting thru a very awkward moment. And for the naysayers, he took the oath again, just to appease everyone. Now that is a great guy!

Cheif Justice got the words out of order when he should have said "I faithfully swear to execute" he said "I swear to execute faithfully".< Obama caught it but it was one of those "what do you say now moments"? They got through it with the words out of order. He took the oath again because the Constitution is very specific about how it is phrased.
All things considered it was appropriate to take the oath again.

Ahh, man! I missed the flubbed up words of the chief justice.
I stayed home from work to see the inauguration, and swearing in. But all I could find was reruns of Return of the Planet of The Apes.
God, it seemed to be on every channel, too!
