To touch the true “soul” of a woman is a gift to few of us men have had the privilege of knowing. The touching of her heart and her mind. Her state of being. her personality and her real inner beauty are all part of her “true soul.
The adage of that old song from the sixties "To Know You Is To Love You." Is one that reminds us that we must know and care for the one we love.
Some of us men can see LOVE when it stands in front of us, some of us are blind as bats in fact. We have our minds on other things and places, thinking about others maybe and miss the love of our lives sitting right there in front of us….Some say the best place to hide something is in plain sight…
If a man could walk with the wind, love the pattering of a spring rain, splashing on his head and running and dripping down his smiling face and still be able to touch the sun on a day bright and gleaming with fun and laughter in his heart. Then he is in love.
A man needs to be strong and yet so gentle and tender, a variety of aspects of a complete person. This man needs the strength of mind and heart along with the fortitude of a life of growing knowledge of his personal growth and maturity but still be able to maintain the youth of his fore days. The gentleness of heart and tenderness of soul to meet the requirements of the day….Not to hard and forceful but tender and gentle to feel and touch…A calming and gentle voice not loud and bragging, or that of a drill sergeant …
This man needs to be able to stand on his own or stand side by side with the one he loves, he must be able to know if she needs his help or tenderness and have the knowledge that he is and will be there for her, both in spirit and fact… as he needs the same from her…A
true package deal…to know you are never alone ….
A man who wonders and dreams the dreams of a future. Dreams of days to come. Dreams of your loved one and you. Dreams of places warm, and bright. Dreams of a future built only for you. Dreams of family and growth of love as all the distant days pass…He wonders what would life be like with out the one I love…

Ah yes, such is true. But . . . but . . . those fine words mean nothing when these feelings and actions are not returned by the one we love. True love, openness and understanding, on a one way street, soon produces a crash zone -- no matter how much we may love a person.
Any dream should be little more than a road map to action. That includes the dream of a close relationship.
Many of us are so involved in the little worlds we have created for ourselves that we have actually left no room for a real love. We forget that we are a real person onto ourselves and sometimes allow others control over our freedoms to function. That happened to me, for a while, and I’m sure it has with many others.
As you say, “a man has to be strong,” but he also has to act like a real man. Which means, he must also know what he wants and go for it. He must be true to the one he loves yet, if he is not also true within himself first, that may become a lie. Most importantly, he must also have honor enough to say what he means and mean what he says in a relationship -- and do what he says he will do. Love is a daily display of action, as much as passion. True love is as much about openness and dependability as anything else. Real love is the meeting of minds and never having to make excuses, simply because there is no way you would ever want to do anything to distress the one you love.
For a man to “touch the heart of a woman” he loves, he must also offer her a heart and mind worthy of touching. Sometimes that takes some doing. It always takes some effort.
But, any honorable man dreaming of such things with the woman he desires must also consider compatibility as well as love. We do, after all, wish the relationship to last, rather than crash on the side-road of undisclosed impediments.
Yes, it’s true: These are all dreams and feeling that I’ve had over the years. The change -- the BIG change -- in my life is only that I met someone who changed dream to reality and made me slip easily into that strange thing call “relationship” without even batting an eye.
How’d that happen? Hell if I know. But, it did.
And, I’m here to tell you: I’m a hard nut to crack! Also, I’m willing to bet that I have more adult years living alone than anyone around here. So, if it happened for me, it can happen for anyone.
