I went outside a few minutes ago to see how much snow that we had received. I was met by one of the most breathtaking views. An icy fairy tale winter wonderland. Only it was not a fairy tale, it was real. The snow had stopped and we had only received about 1" or less, but it sure clung to the trees and made them beautiful. Everything is shut down. The little town of Richmond, Ky, is almost completely without power. My ex son in law lives there and he says that most of Richmond and Berea have no power.
As I stepped outside, I heard the neighbors talking about the trees that were snapping into, the phone service was out and that the close neighbors beside us did not have any power either. We are blessed, we have electric and are toasty and warm.
Here are a few pics that I took with the cell phone off my balcony and then my back porch.

Here is a pic of the neighboring house with the big tree that split in half.

This is taken off my back porch on the first floor.

This is taken from my second floor balcony.
As you can see, we did not get much snow, it just looks like it because of the ice.

nice pics
i think that tree can survive
trees next to houses should be trimmed and/or topped.,for their safety and the cars/houses sake too

I know, kywonder. The hoarfrost is absolutely beautiful. I have to admit, though, that it would be so much prettier if I did not have to go out in it nearly every single day! I want summer........so I can b**ch about having to mow the lawn........
