Well, Hurricane Ike tore up my yard a wee bit. Knocked over a HUGE shumardi oak which hit my rickety 8 ft cedar board fence. You have any idea what kind of whiplash that can cause a fence? It shook down parts all over the fence. I have a large yard too. Man, cedar fence is expensive. I had to wait til I FINALLY got a corrected check from the insurance company for my no longer in existence beach house before I could buy stuff to fix the fence and roof.
Roof is minor but the fence...oh hell. My ex and I pulled the fallen fence down in several places and stuck posts to hold the rest up temporarily. I don't know about anyone else but I will BE damned before I will spend a thousand plus dollars on a shit half ass job of a fence that I will have to look at for years to come. So, of course, I want to do the repair correctly, sturdily, evenly and I want it to be fkn gorgeous.
Well, my ex does not believe in doing quality work at all. I had to fight with him all the way trying to get a good job out of him. WTF? HE isn't going to have to look at it for years to come. But hey, being the way he is, farsighted, he would not be able to tell the difference anyway. So, I stopped work on the wooden fence. Too much grief. It is simply closed off with metal wire fence. Even that is not done right.
I told him, listen, if the posts are not put close enough together, the dogs will push under it. They will just lift it up because it is too slack and soft. Does he listen? Hell no. I told him I would go buy more poles if we didn't have enough. HELL no, he hates having to go to the store. So he spread the poles out and the damned dogs keep PUSHING OUT under the soft dirt and lifting the edge up and go right under.
NEVER believe me, Jack. I am just a stupid fkn woman and I don't know shit. Ignore everything I say and freeze your fkn ass off in Wisconsin. Dickhead. NOW who is the stupid one. See what you get? YOU EARNED it. My dogs would not be able to get out and drive me crazy if you just followed direction instead of bitching at everything I asked you to do. I mean, after all, that was what you were supposed to pay me for rent during the winter as you sucked up the warm air down here instead of a foot or more of snow up there. I sure hope you are having fun in the freezing cold.
Yeah, so today, again, the dogs got out. And this time they did not come when called. After all, everytime they came back I stuck em in their crates to keep from killing them for running off. It is not their faults my HELPER refused to do the work he was trading off for rent. I locked them up because I was so angry because the WHOLE REASON I invited you back in my life was because you claimed you wanted to quit smoking everything and you would help me repair the storm damage...yeah. I am SUCH a stupid fool for believing that. You just wanted a warm place to stay, you liar.
The dogs were gone all day. From around 12:00 to around 7pm they were running the neighborhood. I called and called and drove around hollering. NO joy. Called outside over and over. NO joy. Went into the threads and whined. Then told our two BEST prayer warriors about the dogs and ask for prayer. Pat and Ky. Twenty minutes later I again open the door to holler for Homer and WAH! Homer is right there outside the door.
Ok, where is Lonnie? Lonnie is the wussy. He is a rescue dog. If I holler at him, he cringes. He has always been a fearful dog. You walk past him he leaps up and runs away. You drop something he runs from the room. He won't come in the door if you stand too close to the door...afraid to be kicked, maybe. The people last owned him may have severely abused him. It certainly looks like it the way he acts.
I call. Nothing. I call, nothing. Finally a few minutes later I see another dog...across the street. Yeah, that is him. I call him, LONNIE! He looks at me and whines...oh, he knows he screwed up. *whine* Come on, Lonnie. *whine* Comes a little closer, he is in the yard now. Come on, baby ...I say in a sweet voice. *Whiiine, you gonna kick me...* He whines. I ain't gonna kick, you, come on, Lonnie. *whiiine, you gonna lock me up again.* I ain't gonna lock you up. *you gonna yell at me...* I ain't gonna yell at you. Please? Come here, baby. I MISSED you damn dogs. Please?
He comes closer. I keep calling him and pleading with him...but he is sure he is gonna get it. I pull out the big guns.
Yummy, Lonnie, yum, yum! Treat? He comes closer. Ok, close enough. I go pick him up and carry him in. Put him down and pet and hug him. Homer is already laying down. All he did was lick his sore toes. He KNEW I missed him. He is the tough guy.
I give them both treats. Boy are they surprised! Yeah, they are back home. All is well in my world. My babies are back. And I am going to hire someone to repair my fence. Hell with getting a so called friend to help. I will pay a real fence crew. Ones that will make it right and do it beautiful.

Glad I could be of help Spirit and so glad your babies are home. Any time you need prayer, just give me an email and I will stop and go to bat for you. I know you are thrilled as well that your dogs are back home. Here's praying that you find someone to fix your fence and that they don't take you to the cleaners to do it.

I guess you're the fire dancer today SE... Wow not another who's going to stop smoking ... the storm damage might help him take his mind off it lol...
Hmmm one good thing though... didn't the storm scare the gators off?? Well, except for one maybe lol...
You don't want just ANYTHING crawling in through that fence...

Being someone who loves my furbabies too...so glad that they both came back home safe and sound. I worry when my little rat terrier takes off like that too. The greyhounds are always walked on leashes because if they take off chasing a rabbit, I'll never see them again. Did you know they can run up to 40 MPH, I couldn't catch 'em if had wings.....lol.
Hope you can find someone decent to fix your fence so you don't have to keep going thru this.

Thanks for the comments. My blogs often are an emotional release system. One of these days I will stop dragging people into my life just to push hidden or obvious buttons for me to work thru. I hope they will all be gone eventually...the buttons.
In the meantime, I will just carry on. Hey, I know some people think I am anger filled. And? So? Everyone has some anger. Those that stuff it tend to blow up and kill or hurt people or develop deadly illnesses and suffer thru it. I am sure some consider me manic depressive. Hunh, I am always manic, lol! And the only time I am depressed is when dealing with certain types of situations. At which point, I work on it, get over it and regain control over my emotions instead of them controlling me.
Seems the biggest problem (to me) is I keep dragging people into my life that drive me bonkers. So I am trying to resist having people in my life. I love the internet. All you have to do is turn the puter OFF and then the harrassment goes away. Yay!
