Just an idea to help the job situation.,instead of building the high speed train from L.A. to Las Vegas.,why not build a new rail system that crisscrosses the entire USA .,utilizing the new plasma drive system on high speed ribbon rail.,that would create lots of jobs for many industries .,
Also we could run pipe lines along the tracks to carry water to drought stricken areas.,gas lines.,oil lines.,
Train cars that carry passengers cars.,so they don't use gas while driving cross country.,less pollution.,safe travel
this can be expanded with a central hub in let's say.,St.Louis.,a circle line hitting most major cities.,oh well,.,just a thought
good luck when China tries to foreclose on the USA

That is a fantastic idea, I've always wanted to jump on a train and see the country, I bet it would be used all the time to go from one coast to the other. Can you imagine how easily it would be for anyone here to see ppl if we could jump on a train than was in the middle of the states? All they'd need is to have other trains that tied into it. Geez you are so smart, why haven't they thought of it yet. Bet the airlines have something to do with it and the automobile companies? Ya think? Take care Lost

Train cars that carry passengers cars.,so they don't use gas while driving cross country.,less pollution.,safe travel Why do we need to wait for a few billion dollars of infrastructure to do this?
There are already massive amounts of main line rail, and even the current standard GE locomotive can haul thousands of tons of freight for pennies on the mile.
I travel regionally, all the time. Part of the job. Give me a decent schedule, a place to take the chariot, and a nice plushy big seat business car, with internet access,,,,,,,,
and I can turn that 3 hour car ride into PRODUCTIVE WORK TIME.

It is called Amtrak, my friends. It exists, at least a slower version.

I have done a nonstop from Los Angeles - San Fran - Salt Lake - Bosston - DC Jackisonville. Beautiful
Unfortunately, Airline lobbyists set Amtrak prices, about what air tickets cost, so only the eccentric and pokey would use it. I'm both.

I have traveled across the US from Oregon to Mass. on a train....it was FABULOUS! The prev. year I had flown there and had a near miss flying into Denver. A lot of bumps and bruises on us, but it could have been worse!
What was nice about the train trip, was...if something went wrong, you didnt have to drop 7 miles to FIX IT!!
