Decisions Made – New Life Plans

For some time now, I have been contemplating leaving the good ole’ USA. My sweetheart is in China, so that is where my heart is. Over the past few years, I have watched greed, self-entitlement, bad judgment, poor management, and corrupt politicians take this country and set it on a path of complete financial destruction.

I have been going over my assets, finances, available retirement funds, future SS benefits and I have come to the conclusion that whether I work another four and a half years until the earliest date I can legally “retire”, or just pack it in now, the standard of living for myself and my soon-to-be bride will be exactly the same. The big difference is that we get to be together four and half years sooner.

Therefore, as of today, everything I own is for sale on either Craigslist or Ebay and as soon as I have nothing left to sell, I’m gone!

I had nothing to do with this mess that this country is in. I have never been late on a bill. I have never borrowed money. I paid cash for my home, my cars, my motorcycle, everything I own. If I couldn’t pay for it, I had no business having it, that has always been my philosophy.

I have worked a full-time job since I was 14. I have never drawn unemployment or any other government assistance. In other words, every day of my life, I have paid my own way.

The final straw in my decision to leave is this latest stimulus package. At my best estimate, I will have to pay back approx. $250,000 (maybe more) for my “share” of this debt. For this privilege, I get an $800 tax credit for two years.

I’m sorry folks. I didn’t create this mess. I had nothing to do with it and I’m not paying for it. I did everything in my life according to the most ethical rules that can be found. I have given to charity much more than could ever be expected at my income level. I served in the Armed Forces and suffered through Viet Nam. I paid my taxes, I paid my bills. I took care of my parents in their declining years without help or aid from anyone. I’m not paying for this insanity that is gong on now. By this time next year, you all are on your own!

I would rather live under Communism than this corrupt and unethical Democracy!
