The Morning Editorial from Station WROK . . . Radio Free Talking Rock, Jawja
We rock your world . . . or at least the delusions you have of this world.
This morning's editorial is sponsored by the Talona Creek Fire-Baptized Union Church in Woody's Gap, GA. Preacher Kuykendall's sermon this coming Sunday is entitled, "If you sell yor soul to the Devil, are you a slave for eternity, a smart capitalist or a lawyer?" All the community is invited to Talona Creek's Wednesday night fellowship dinners. They are free for sinners. The menu cooked this week by the fine womenz of Talona Creek will include chitlings a la carte, smothered chicken, boiled goober peas, sweet taters, collards, hoe cakes and apple dumplings for dessert. Yum-yum. Actually, after announcing our editorial topic last night on the evening poultry market report, we had so many angry calls from listeners around the nation, that we decided to change what we said in our editorial . . . in keeping with the chicken s-t behavior of overpaid TV news announcers during the past eight years. Listeners complained that by assuming that mega-bank executives and lawyers had souls, we proved the long-term right wing bias of the news media that has so corrupted the morals of our nation's young people.
So instead we will discuss the idea of a listerner from Idaho, who suggested that Congress should send a $30,000 check to every single American citizen rather than giving the money to the megabanks.
Dang good idea! Sound economics! As long as the money be stipulated to only be used to pay off loans & credit cards, or purchase items made in North America. Nothing much is made in the US of A, so if the money was going to be spent at all, we would have to shop at our Canadian and Mexican neighbors. Heck - we'd even let you shop in Cuba. Give those poor Cubans some decent income and they'd throw out the Commies quicker than my herd dogs go after ground hogs. Besides, it would be nice to get some snappy Cuban music on our boring radio stations
When you think about it. Enabling people to be debt free plus increasing sales of home grown industries and retail stores, would do a whole lot more to stimulate the economy, than proping up the investments of a bunch of carpetbaggers and scaliwags living on Wall Street . . . where ever that is.
That is our morning editorial for February 24, 2009.
In other news, the Rabun Gap - Nacoochee School will be holding its annual flour sack dress fashion show tonight in the school gym at 7:30 PM. Some of the prettiest young ladies this side of Tallulah Gorge will be modeling the latest styles of dresses made from Martha White Flour sacks. Martha White Flour and Jim Dandy Dog Food are the shows commercial sponsors. Of course, you listeners who are Florida outlanders might not know that the famous book series, Fox Fire Tales, was written by the students of Rabun Gap - Nacoochee School.
Y'all Come! And any pretty single womenz come on over to my house afterwards for some court'n and spark'n. Mama told me not to charge for overnight stays, so I don't any more.

Hey, mega-bankers and lawyers are just like the rest of us, except that they exist on a higher financial plane. They worry about their families, their retirement, their mortgages, their kids' educations, their dreams and disappointments same as everyone else, but again, on a level of expectation and entitlement surpassing that of mere mortals. They go to church, go on vacation, eat, drink, sex their wives and live and breathe.
If it gives anyone who has the wealth envies here or elsewhere any comfort about the elite up there in the financial ether, consider this: reduced to the average income and lifestyle of the little people, most of the elites would lose their wives, their families, and take a hike off the GWB at 3 a.m.
They wouldn't make it. That's the shame of it. The downfall of it all is the folks at the very top are the softest, weakest and least adaptable of all our people, at least once you get past Trump.. Especially in this day and age.
