Strange how most of us spend our whole lives trying to obtain material things and pleasures of the flesh, things that stay on Earth after we depart from it, but the one thing we do take with us, our soul, we destroy trying to obtain these things.

God meant for us to be blessed. Ask Abraham or Job or any of the old patriarchs. It is getting them the wrong way that cost us. The struggle is to not let the "things" get you. Big difference.

Lots of things are just a burden in life.

At about 65 years of age, you start to want to get rid of a lot of stuff that seemed important earlier in life.

When it comes to posessions, to think that you can live your life like a materialistic fool and not become one, is like thinking you can drink wine all day and not get drunk.

How many here are alone because they chose their house or things over love? How many are not interested in a partner in life unless the person has a specific income? Such people get what they have so foolishly chosen.

I have a friend who cannot bear to part with any of his posessions. While his income is greater than mine, I consider him a poorer man. I am rich enough to give things away, but he is not.
