I feel a tad bit funny about doing this, but I will do it. A friend has asked me to bring forth once again a poem I wrote and posted back in November. I will do this for my fortieth blog.
What the heck! I'm in the mood. It's a sultry 33 degrees here this morning and the temperature is climbing as I type. The sun is shining, and it looks beautiful.......not to mention just how good that sunshine feels on my very existence.
With Spring fast approaching us now, we look forward to all that it has to offer us.......nature in all her splendor and glory. With the trees, the flowers and the sounds of the birds and other critters coming back to life after such a long period of dormancy, I believe we, too, are more apt to feel alive. This tends to bring our own hopes, dreams and desires back to the forefront of our lives.
UNDYING LOVE
Are you perhaps my heart's desire The man that I so yearn The one to walk along life's path With which to love and learn
When my hair has turned to silver As silvery as the moon can be Will you still hold me in your arms And want to dance with me
These are the things I seek When searching for my love If you can answer "yes" to these You may be mine sent from above
Spread your wings and fly with me O'er mountains, fields and streams Come take my hand and share with me Your wishes, hopes and dreams
We'll light the way for others to see What love can do for them In all our glory we will have found The world's most precious gem
We'll share a lifetime hand in hand Our hearts so wild and free Together we'll sing the songs of love In perfect harmony
If I should leave before you Don't weep for me, my friend Just let the sunlight kiss your face And know it's me again
And when the night has fallen The moonbeams will dance with cheer The gentle summer breeze will blow Whispering softly in your ear
When winter sets in, sit near the fire Watch the flames flicker in sheer delight I'll wrap my love around you then And rock you through the night
When you're outdoors, just look around At the abundance of nature everywhere The trees, the sky, the babbling brooks You know that I'll be there
When it's time for you to join me I'll greet you with a smile We'll sit on the loveseat made just for us Reminiscing the whole while
Our love shall forever live on and on Once again so wild and free We'll sing and dance and laugh and love Through all eternity
And now........for your listening pleasure, I bring to you a song by Celine Dion.
Power of Love
