Today, as I was pruning the Spanish bayonet plants that grow next to the street, a young woman drove by. A wisp of her perfume wafted out of her moving car, and was carried to me on the faint breeze.
I had looked to see who was passing by, and it was a very young woman, unknown to me, probably in her early twenties. She never noticed me, and never slowed down. But her perfume spoke of the delights of time spent with a woman, her, or any, or all women. It had that special light, feminine, floral scent that I find delightful, so essentially feminine.
She never looked my way, just passed by on her way to wherever she was going. But in her passage, unknowingly, she gave me a gift, a reminder of the beauties of all women, the delight of all sweet things feminine, and the joy the thought of them brings a man in the Spring.

Isn't Spring fabulous? It tends to bring all the senses out.
I loved that movie, too......."The Scent of a Woman" with.....with.....shoot I forget. It was a long time ago. I do remember that it was deep, though.
Great write, Ttom............

I hear you, my friend....the fragrance of my man's aftershave on the pillow beside me, when he's not there, is a pretty good reminder of what has been and, what is going to be again soon....
It's great when ya know him...and, know what to expect....

ah, the power of smell, aromatherapy. It can take us back to a place, a time in our history, our youth. Lavender, can calm our troubled minds. I once had a dance partner who told me I smelled like his ex wife. Bad, bad, bad, never do that. Sometimes I smell a wiff of Oregon in the air and wish I was still there. Can't be there, so I just inhale the smell and enjoy the moment. Suck it up and hope I don't run off the road or hit something. Spring is an assault on the senses. I can't wait to get busy in my garden. The colors, the smells, digging in the dirt, the bugs, it's a renewal of life.

That is a lot for a smell of perfume. What would you do if she gave you a kiss?
