Just wondering out loud here...

but is it respectful of the fallen soldier to do that at their funeral.....

I heard a rumor that it might happen at the funeral I am going to on Saturday...it has me SO upset!

My thoughts are....if you want to march...march in Washington DC....not on the grave of the ones we love.

I told my sister to have her husband to alert the State Police...so they can either be there or be close...

I for one, find this to be utter disrespect to the soldier and his grieving family!

Well...no matter how you feel about the war...thats just wrong. Respect the family, and what they are going through. definitely call the cops.

I've been to a few military funerals and I've never seen them do that .. 21 gun salute and the folding of the flag is all that I ever seen...it's been a few years .. maybe times have changed ..

I am completely against the war but there is no way I would ever consider infringing on a funeral. However, there are a lot of whackos out there including one group that thinks that soldiers are dying because we have so much homosexuality in America. They have been protesting across America at funerals.

A funeral is not the appropriate venue to stage a protest, period! How utterly disrespectful.

I too agree that it's just plain wrong to protest at a funeral.

And why aren't these people taking it to the street where the protesting needs to be?

I'll tell you why:
These people are fakes, phonies and pretty much wimps. Not to mention a little stupid and a lot rude. They would NEVER dare to protest like a real American...in the streets with a good chance of getting sprayed with mace, tear gas or shot with rubber bullets...or arrested. But that was the OLD America...the new America has people protesting online and at funerals where most of the people are dead and can't hurt them...or hear them.

Hope it goes well and the people get the respect they deserve.

It's so very wrong.

And, ya, I'm a so-called "peacenik", opposed to almost any armed conflict including these latest ones....but hell, time & place.

A funeral is not the time or place.

it is totally wrong, need to call the state police, it is there way of getting news coverage, they don't care about the family or the fallen soilders they only care about there selves. they are the sames one who spit on and called me names as a 19 year old boy returning from vietnam. they have no respect for any one or thing but them selves
they are trash

On such a horribly sad day, no politics should be made. Those who protest the war are within their rights to do so. I've protested it ever since we left Afghanistan to go to Iraq. I would never use the death of one of our heros to advance my protestations, though. Those who do are more interested in their own personal victories than the passing of one of our kids. They'll get little support that way.

There is a time and a place for actions such as these. This would be very bad timing on their part............and should not be held at this time out of RESPECT for the family and friends who are mourning this young soldier.

I hope all goes well on Saturday.

The funeral was today...I am drained. The church was filled to over flowing...

So many tears shed today for a young man who gave his life for his country...

The Patriot Guard Riders...fellow Veterans... were there showing brotherly love.

Even the State Police had 2 cars there to keep traffic at a proper speed in front of the church...having both the Riders there and the Police...we felt safe.

It was probably one of the saddest funerals I have ever attended...30 or more Marines attended and cried with the family and friends, bag pipes, 21 gun salute, taps...it was hard to not cry...

Semper Fi....always faithful.
