With a grinder Sunday. He lost!
I am so behind on everything here, so wanted to let everyone know why.
We were doing some work on a boat trailer, he was welding some parts, I was using the grinder to knock the rust off of it, so we could paint it. I did it for about 3 hours. When he was done welding, he said I could start painting, and he would run the grinder. He wasn't on it 2 minutes when all of a sudden I heard a strange noise! looked over, and he was bent over holding his hands to his middle. The grinder was on the ground. I ran to him, not knowing what body part he had hurt. When he was finally able to breathe, he pulled his hand away from his body, and the whole back of his hand and wrist was mangled.
We went inside, and washed it out real good, it was bleeding well, and cleaning itself out. He sat down for awhile, and tried to calm down. He was quite shaky, and very pale. He finally asked me if I thought he should go to the ER and have it looked at. YES! They took an exray, nothing broken, but what a mess his hand is. Such a big open wound! They wrapped it up, gave him a tetanus shot, and sent him home.
He is left handed, so there isn't much he can do. Not good for a man as active as he is. He has to go see the Dr. again tomorrow, to make sure there is no infection setting in. I am cleaning, and dressing it to the best of my ability.
It was caused by a wire that came out of a hole and right back up in another one. Impossible to see, as it was on the bottom side of the trailer, and covered in rust. The wire cup brush grabbed it, broke the wire, and the wire attacked his hand like a weed eater.
He will be fine, but probably won't be able to work the rest of the week. Depending on how well it is healed by Monday, will determine if he will be able to go back then. Thank God for THE DUCK!

He is certainly creative !
In a lifetime of major and minor disasters, I've never even heard of doing that.
Way to go Duvvy ! Would you reccomend it to a friend ?
I'll have to give it a try.
