Yes, twisted. That is what someone has done with my words....they've twisted them & tried to use them against me. It makes me angry, but even more, it makes me sad.
It seems many of us are still having discussions with regards to the number of comments allowed or not allowed in the blogs and forum threads being locked. Of course, everyone has their opinion on the whys & why nots. For the most part, the way I see it is that this is a site whose owners make the decisions in how to run things & we, as visitors or members of the site, have no choice but to abide by how things are ran or we can leave.
Therein lies the words that I have spoken that have been twisted. I have often laid out my thoughts as to "if one doesn't like the site, how it's ran or the majority of the members here, why do they stay?" I am not asking or telling anyone to leave by pointing out that there are rules we are expected to abide by if we stay here. How absurd is it to suggest I am telling people on this site to leave?
More than that, how absurd would it be for me to think I have the right to tell people to leave. I don't have a problem saying this....my Mother taught me better. Yes, she did. I have no right or will to make such demands of anyone. We are all equals here.....or at least we are supposed to be. Yes, Gold members have perks that the rest of us don't have, but still yet, we are all expected to abide by the same set of rules set forth by the owners & moderators of this site.
I've had some private discussion with someone else who has encountered problems with this person who has twisted my words. Many of us can't understand why the person has not been banned for their behavior, as where ever the person goes, there seems to be trouble.
As most everyone I am acquainted with on this site knows, I have been here for a number of years now. To be exact, I have been a member here since November 28, 2003. Of course, throughout this time, there have been trials & tribulations. For the most part, though, I have thoroughly enjoyed this site. Any problems I have encountered I have let them flow like water under a bridge....and I've moved on.
As I've recently stated in the forums here, despite the slow down on the site, I plan to stick with it. I've got lots of friends here that I enjoy "visiting" with on a daily basis. I check in on the blogs every day...read what appeals to me, pass on the rest....the same with the forums. I did give up on the chat room, as over time it's effects were having less & less of a positive influence on me. I always look forward to seeing new people join & take part in the different areas of the site and it is my hope the site will, overall, continue to flourish.
I get as tired of the negativity here as anyone else. Yeah, if I had my way, negativity would be banned. But that's not very realistic, is it? In the mean time, if there's a way to quell trouble, I'm all for it. Here again, if a person wishes to go against the guidelines of the site, put down the moderators & members, why do they stay?....Why would anyone stay any place that makes them feel they have to argue for their so called "rights" or constantly be involved in negativity. Yeah, really...if you want to twist my words to suit your sordid ways....why don't you just leave?

Whine, whine, whine, yet they hang onto something that seems to make them unhappy. I guess it's just for attention or lack of a life outside the virtual world.
Sometimes, I think it's tornado season on MD with all the twisting going on.

People always interpret what anyone says with a slant to suit their needs, their agendas, not the way the original person stated but, hey, it is their right.. heynet or no? When did it become alright to hurt someone?

Ahhhhhhhh just know who you are and don't worry about it. People can read what they want into anything. We've all seen it on here and yes sometimes good people can drawn in without looking for themselves. I figure they will learn. I know I did a long time ago not to believe anything I didn't see for myself.

This site, as with any other online setting, is no different from the so called 'real world', when it comes to opinions. People will always have them, always throw them around, and like it or not, everyone (even the jerks) have the right to speak theirs. The answer to your question is a simple one.....if they left, they would have nowhere to bother others, and that is their goal. By you giving them the attention in the forums and on the blogs, you are giving them the satisfaction of knowing they are getting to you. You're playing right into their little game. Let them have their opinion, and leave it at that. Making a big deal out of it only encourages them to keep doing what you don't like.

There are several points i don't understand here.
Why waste your time with comments from an empty profile, obviously a throwaway profile to be used to stir trouble until tossed out?
If someone is a rude jerk, why would anyone hesitate to tell him to take a hike or hit the road? Isn't that what rude jerks need to hear?
Why not keep a mental list of which people are always on hand when the shit is being stirred? If they are always in the smoke, they are probably the ones lighting the fires. Does anyone else remember the words to the old Ray Charles song,

Perks for gold members? What perks so they get that has something to do with this issue? I have been a gold member before and don't remember any perks that had anything to do with this.
I have been a member here since November 28, 2003. I have been a member for a long time also. What does that have to do with anything? A member posted something in the forum about how long they had been a member and implied somehow that their opinion matter more then others. I sooo disagree...if we are to get new members and keep them they should be treated likes kings and queens.....for that is who they seek to be for their potention mate they are here searching for.
btw.......right here :why don't you just leave? You are asking someone to leave....I have seen you do it before, why do you deny it?

I have to say as I've logged on here today & found numerous comments on this blog, I am appalled at how some of my words continue to be twisted.
I shan't pick anyone’s comments to bits, but find it quite interesting that a certain person who has claimed dislike for me & my opinions & advised me they would keep their distance from me comes here & comments on my blog, hurling unfounded accusations at me. In order that I not create any additional disdain, I’ve decided to block this person from future attempts at communication with me.
Despite this being a dating site…and as I stated in my blog….
I get as tired of the negativity here as anyone else. Yeah, if I had my way, negativity would be banned. some times, we are all better off simply to keep our distance….or in simpler terms…avoid each other like the plague. There are plenty of us here that we can all have friends & have fun & enjoy this site without constant dissension.
