I am walking in the local United Cancer Compassion Walk today.. to raise funding and awareness for cancer of all types. There is a one mile walk and a three mile walk that one can choose to participate in. Now that may not sound like a like to anyone who has been active but one mile sounds like a lot to me, especially since I just finished my last round of chemo last on April 16th and my energy level is not even close to being back where it should be.
I put this challenge to you all.....When is the last time you did something for a worth while cause, whether it be a cancer walk, donating your time to someone less fortunate, raising money for a charity or just taking the time to enjoy the company of others ?
Do yourself and others a huge favor and take the time to do at least ONE good deed today and then challenge yourself to do at least ONE good deed each week. The more you do, the easier it gets to give of your time, money and indeed just yourself.
Thanks to all of you who already participate in cancer walks, or any marathon walks/runs, volunteering of your time with children, elderly or disabled. Bless you all for your huge hearts
Oh, and pray that I make at least the one mile walk....the old gray mare ain't what she used to be.. but she's still going to keep on keeping on.. even if she has to hobble
Hugs to all of you for your support and love!!
You all are the bestest

You GO GIRL! I did the 5K walk for Habitat for Humanity one year, thought they were gonna have to send a search party out for me! lol I also worked on the house they were building for a woman and her disabled daughter. I loved the feeling! The money I raised stayed right in our town for the next house.
Duvvy and I have been talking about looking into it here... you just may have nudged us a little.

Well I did it!! I made the one mile AND I went to several garage sales after the walk But I must admit to being very tired now.. a short nap is in order I believe
You all are such a lovely bunch.. I have no idea what I would do without your love, support and encouragement.. frankly, I don't want to imagine what I do without you all
It truly is about the giving of the heart.. if anyone can't get that then you really have my sympathy. It's all about the genuine caring for others.
Thanks to those who do give from the heart.. you are all my heroes

Well..... what great news!!! I was just checking in to see how everyone is doing..... and YOU, my friend.... MADE MY DAY !!!
Saturday I thought I MIGHT be able to make it around the block. There was just too much dirt and dust flying through the air.
I'm sooooooo glad you were up to doing this.
