Seems nowadays getting protective orders against the ex is getting simpler by the day.
And not always for the right reasons.
Some women abuse the law, getting restraining and protective orders against their ex’s in an attempt to get vengeance for cheating etc.
It used to be that to get these type of orders you needed a whole stack of evidence, now they seem to be printing them off.
Women use them to punish the ex to keep him from his children because he was behind in child support, or the ex has got a new girlfriend so the mother slams a restraining order in her rage so he can’t see his own children.
These reasons are sick.
The law is there to protect the innocent, to bring justice to the guilty, and not to be used for fake assaults and made up stories of stalking just because she wants to get her revenge.
Already some courts are beginning to see the pattern, and are starting to ask for more evidence again.
The liars fakes and vengeful women who use the law for their own ends, jeopardise the justice for the women who have REALLY been abused.
Not to mention the children, who not seeing their dad, and don’t understand why.
Hate breeds only hate, it grows like a cancer that eventually affects everyone around them.
Moving on isn’t easy for some, but sometimes necessary, for ones own state of mind as well as the childrens and using them as a weapon is to me cruel.
You should love your children more than you hate each other.

One of the worst outcomes of this behaviour is the difficulty it causes any genuine cases, who sometimes have little or no evidence, until it's too late.

You are right Charlie! Many wicked women are using the restraint orders to get back at EX's. However, there is a reason why these judgements are perhaps too easy to obtain.
For way too long, many a wife, separated wife or ex-live-in girl friend was brutally beaten or even killed, after repeatedly pleading to the police for help. Far too many have even been killed after successfully obtaining one of these orders. Unless the police lock up the predator, he will often find some way to reach his targeted victim.
Go back in history a bit. You will be shocked at the number of women executed in the United States and the UK, whose crime was killing an abusive husband. Divorce evidently was not an alternative back then. Until the late 1700s women could burned at the stake for killing their husband in England.
Yep, the police are perhaps overreacting, but the earlier alternative was far too many dead victims.

Just remember, the court and law system is a ""GOOD OLD BOYS CLUB"" The care absolutely nothing about anyone. Their main concern is how to get the extra dollar out of the man.
This system needs to be repaired and any judge or Lawyer found guilty show have to spend time in jail at hard labor. However, since their brothers make the laws and the average person--after voting them into office--just pus their head in the sand until it affect them

Eventually the kids will grow up and figure things out for themselves. You won't need to do anything, so this power struggle that some parents do is worthless to prove who loves whom and using the children as a ploy or tool is useless. It only hurts the kids in the end. Many times they will go towards the parent who doesn't have custody so one must be careful when using the kids to get their way. But you are right, if there really isn't a real threat, keep those restraining orders left to the ones who are truly being threatened, it's not worth it in the end. Take care Lost
