Reunion
I wonder how much longer,
my feet shall tread this earth,
how many more shall pass beyond
souls that to me were of such great worth.
I am growing ever lonesome
for my son who has journeyed on,
and for all my friends and loved ones
who for so long have now been gone.
I crave the great reunion
on the day that we embrace,
never again to be apart,
and sorrow at last shall leave my face.
It seems that almost daily now
my loved ones fail and die,
and ever more I feel so lost
with lonely heart and tear filled eye.
Oh Lord I pray when my turn comes
a smile will light my face
as I slip from all this earthly life
to waiting arms in my heavenly place.
Then once again my heart will sing,
and be so full of joy,
for I shall be with friends again
and with my little boy.

While I have not lost a child Dave, I have lost 5 grandchildren and sometimes I long just to go home and see them. Soon, it will all be over and we will be free from this earthly grip. Beautiful poem.

This is a great tribute to Davey and the others you've lost, and I'm sure they all know exactly how you feel about awaiting the day you can see them again. And you will, I'm sure. When that does happen, you will leave behind other children, family and friends who love you and will grieve for you in much the same way. I miss my loved ones, too...........terribly. But I'm not finished here yet. I have much that I want to do, things I desire to accomplish and people who love and need me here. In other words..............Heaven can wait.
