Im on my brothers laptop at the heartbreak hotel.......just down the road from graceland......first let me say that graceland is not as big as i thought it would be.....the house that is.....its big with lots of rooms.....just not the mansion i thought it was......and of course its terribly outdated.....but i was expecting that.....but whats inside is breathtaking....everything that made the king .....the king.....rooms and rooms on nothing but gold records.....from floor to celings.....awards........rooms of his costumes from diffrent concerts.......when elvis first bought graceland in 1957......for 100000.00 it was out all by itself......now everything has been built all around it....it has alot of out buildings and grounds.....and for the last weekend in april.....there were lots of people here to pay respect to the king and what he was......speaking of respect for the king.....as we were waiting for the bus to come get us and take us back across the street to his car muesume......there was a young girl walking towards the front of graceland that kind of looked like lisa marie......so i leaned over to my brother and said i should say out loud.....hey....look.....its lisa marie ...and watch the crowd run over to this poor girl with their cameras out .....looking like fools.......because at the end of the tour ......you end up out in the gardens where elvis is burried......and alot of people were crying.......highly emotional for some i guess.....and i never miss a chance to have alittle fun.......but for me.....its not a sad time.....but a wonderful place to be to see what this man was all about.....for you see.......hes not dead......his fans will never allow that.......theres a reason he is called the king.....no man has ever done what hes done.....givin so much to so many.....and most likely.......thats what took his life in the end.....he gave all that he had ......but to be here is really something to behold....like i told my friend stormy .....the gift shop is really pricey.....but a tip to the elvis graceland wise......next to the heartbreak hotel is an elvis shop that has what they have over at the gift shop and its less than half price or more on alot of diffrent things.....we went aboard his 747 plane.....the lisa marie.......and let me tell you something.....talk about a party in the sky.......every seatbelt buckel was 24 K gold plated.....the best of everything.....quadrophonic 8 track sound system......long tables and wrap around couches......three beds.........one......king size.......couldnt help but to wonder if he had a young ann margret in there......and other co-stars of his movies.....speaking of his movies....at our motel.....on two channels.....they play just uncut full length elvis movies 24-7.....left them on all nite in my room....well.....we are about to pack up and head down to my sisters house today......got so much to talk about.....so many things ive seen and done already......and this is just the first stop on my vacation.....so stay tuned.....im gonna post pictures when i get down there and add to them all week....what a great time im having.....hey.....saw my first dead armillido along the side of the road when we crossed over the arkansas state line.....we dont have those in indiana.......plus...we crossed over the missippii river twice on the way down here.....a first for me by the way.....looks like a dirty milkshake......cookie

Elvis works at Burger King in Burnsville North Carolina. I saw him yesterday. he's the swing shift assistant manager.  LOL Glad you are havin a good time...

 I'm glad you have access to a computer & got to blog about this leg of your trip.
I'd be willing to bet you will get to having so much fun, you will be so busy, then so tired, that you won't have time to keep up posting while you are there! It's all good though. Be safe & make some great memories, cookie!

Its been years sence I have been to Graceland ....thanks for taking me back.Eerything sounds as if its still the same as when I was there in 1994.

I've been to Graceland like three times cuz I lived near there, and it's amazing what Elvis has done for the community eh Cookie? Unless you get to see it for yourself, you don't realize that he never lived real lavishly himself but thought of others. So many took advantage of him it seems too. I kinda felt sorry for him, he was somewhat of a prisoner in his own home, not realizing until too late how his fame and how he just wanted to make his mother and father comfortable would take on a whole new role for his own life, until it finally killed him. It was kind of a shame. He would give to charities for the life of the charity, not just for one time or day and it is still like that to this day. A truly amazing man. Take care Lost
