The brutal crimes seem to hit the headlines with increasing regularity. A young mother has murdered her young toddler. Most of the victims seem to be cute little females, not Children of the Corn. I have seen a lot more cases in the Atlanta Metro region than appears in national news. They seem equally as brutal and inexplicable as those that do get national attention.
But why? For a mother to kill a 3-5 year old daughter seems beyond comprehension. I could understand, but certainly not condone, a neurotic parent striking a crying baby or an obnoxious two year old in misdirected anger. However, invariably these murders turn out to be premediated killings that are caused by unnatural efforts to intentionally kill the child.
It just does not make any sense.
Do any of you with a background in social work, psychology or counseling have any insight into this phenomenon?

Just weekend before last a man strangled, beat to death his wife and two of his daughters in a hotel room and killed himself. Why? A couple of months ago, another man killed his whole family of five and shot himself. Why? You are seeing more and more of this. I saw on the news just this year alone 14 suicides from stress they say or unknown reasons. A month ago a man went mad and went into his work and shot up the place. Another went in where his exwife was working in a nursing home and killed a bunch of old innocent old folks. Why? This is getting pretty bad this year Etowah, nothing like I've ever seen. Do you have any answer's, I think things were pretty bad during the depression but I don't know if there were so many suicides and people killing their whole families do you? Take care Lost

Ive been watching women behind bars the tv reality program, and they covered this.
One woman murdered her 3 children, drowned them in the bath then called the police on herself.
Turns out she had on going post natal depression that was never properly treated, there had been warning signs that she may do something like this, but nobody picked up on it.
Its so so sad.
God rest those poor babies.

There's a great answer for this.
There is no respect for human life.
Why should we respect and take care of these little children properly, we are allowing women to murder them before they are even born. What does that say to the world about human life? It's disposable, that's what.
it's a shame that we can't even give children rights in this Country, but murders and rapists have them.

Experimental rats, when overcrowded, molest their young, get greedy, drop home territory in favor of hierarchy, and engage in homosexual behavior. You are seeing a known reaction to the abnormal overcrowded mode most people live in.
I think what you are describing is acutely deranged individuals acting in an ever more deranged society.
I think people, living in tune with the natural instincts, that developed in people for millions of years, would not act this way.
Overcrowded, drugged, soulless and godless, materialistic, and isolated ones do.
I think the solutionis to start within the small core group in which we live, and reinstate respect, morality, and realistic values.
