My son is a tow truck driver and he is contantly unlocking vehicles in which the drivers have left their keys. Who hasn't locked themselves out of the car at least once? He is utterly amazed at the number of calls he answers daily. Tonight I put a new spin on the dilemma. I locked myself IN the car. Yes, that's right...IN the car. I was going to go to the store to pick up a few things when I realized that I had left my phone in the house. (I know...it's a security thing for me!) I had already started the car, so I just hopped out and quickly retrieved it from the charger. While I was hurriedly getting back into the car, my door closed slightly activating some sort of safety feature. Apparently when the car is running, if the door is not completely closed, it automatically locks it . That's all fine and good, but I couldn't get it unlocked to save my soul. I tried the electric lock switch, then the manual lock, then the remote on my key fob. I even climbed over the console and tried to unlock it with the passenger door. Panic was about to set in, as well as a very foolish feeling, when I thought that maybe if I turned off the car, the locks might reset. Sure enough they did. I have never been so glad to get OUT of a car. I related this story to my son a few minutes after my escape and he couldn't stop laughing . Finally, he said, "Mom, Only you could lock yourself in your own car!" By the way, I decided that cereal would be just fine for supper and put off going to the store until tomorrow. Maybe I can get there and back without being held hostage by my own car!

If I could give you 50 kudos for that one, I surely WOULD!..It's a first for me.....'(Actually, did ya ever ask your son if HE knew that turning off the engine would solve the problem?
Just wondering...
