With Mothers day fast approaching I imagine many of you ladies will be spending the weekend with loved ones so I want to wish you all a happy Mothers Day a little early.
Back in 1977 I took a notion instead of buying a card for my mother to write a more personal one to her, complete with hand decorated card. Below is the poem that I have decided to share here, as it certainly fits most mothers.
Mother and Spring
Spring is just the time of year for warmth, and bloom, and love. Fragrant flowers down below and warm blue sky above.
How fitting then that Mothers Day is nestled in it's beauty, for you are a flower magnified as you go about your duty.
You are strong as yonder tree in bloom, yet bend like yonder limb and still you spread your sunshine when yonder sky grows dim.
Your heart is as big as all of spring, your love is oceans deep. You are gentle as a soothing breeze that lulls the birds to sleep.
Your kindness and your caring are like everlasting rays of warm embracing sunlight that fills the heart, and stays.
You give your best from year to year, and each year your best expands, So on this day I thank you mom (not just because it's Mothers Day) but because my love demands.
