For the last few weeks here in central Kentucky, we have been having a lot of severe weather with flooding, hail storms, and tornadoes. Yesterday, we had several inches of rain and a fairly big tornado in a town about 25 miles from me. Several homes were totally demolished, a fire house destroyed, and two people were blown from their home and throw into a pond. Both of these people died. I was watching the news while ago and one mobile home was blown off its foundation and the people inside were thrown into the trees behind their house. One of them is in the hospital with a broken neck.
Several brick homes were destroyed and one house had a motor home buried in their roof. I guess that I will get out tomorrow and go look at the destruction. It looks like a demolition area. Seems like tornadoes hit in the little town of Waco and Kirksville, both of them in Madison County. I worked in Madison County for 7 years and shopped there as well. My mom used to live in Waco, so am familiar with all these towns. Even now, the county that my mom lives in is under flooding and is expected to be under the warning until sometime Wednesday. Having lived in the county of Estill (where my mom lives) for years, I can remember how easy it flooded because the Ky River runs right through it and the roads get under water when we have this much rain. More rain is forecasted tonight as well. Fortunately in the county that I live in, we got the rain, but not the devastating wind and tornadoes. There were several wrecks on I 75 at the Madison County area as the 130 mile winds blew the cars off the road and turned them over. Please keep these people in your prayers as they struggle to get back upon their feet.
