Greetings to one & all in MD Land. Those of you that are my closer friends may have thought I've fallen off the face of the Earth. These past couple of months have been anything but dull... thankfully, I've weathered the storms that have passed, & actually feel like getting out their in Cyberland again. After my uncle's death, we were clobbered with one snowstorm after another up here, followed by cold snaps to boot. This put me in a very monotone mood, & all I felt like doing was sleeping. There was only so much I could do inside.. I cleaned out my closet, did some E-Baying, watched TV, called friends, etc., but that still left too many hours of the day with nothing to do. And with roads that were either snow or ice covered, I wasn't about to venture out any distance. By mid-April, the weather finally loosened it's grip, & we had some milder days & FINALLY the snow started melting... but not without a couple more cold snaps & snowfalls. In late April, my dad experienced shortness of breath after exertion, & had heart tests done. Thankfully, his heart is in excellent shape, so it may be a touch of asthma or emphysema from the 45 years he worked with ink products. A couple of weeks ago, my mom slipped in WalMart & fell & broke her arm & shoulder. She has surgery on May 21st for this. I will not shop @ WalMart ever again, after finding out from her injury lawyer that WalMart isn't covering one dime, as they do not have liability insurance, hence why they they can have such low prices. I myself developed UTI symptoms, which after lots of tests came back negative, & was determined to have been caused by stress. Thankfully, my physical last week went very well, & the doc said I'm in excellent health. Also during all this, my aunt & uncle had short hospital stays as well. So, I hope & pray I get a bit of a break now, as my faith was definitely pushed to it's outer limits. I'm looking forward to my annual trip to the Railroad Park in Rochelle, IL. from May 21-26. If any of you live in the northern IL. / Rockford / Rochelle areas, feel free to stop by & say hi. It would be great to meet some new faces. Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there! *HUGS & FOOTRUBS* ladies.. *HANDSHAKES* guys..

I was just thinking about you the other day, wondering where you've been. I'm glad things are calming down a bit for you now. Wow, no liability insurance? How can a store even run a place like that? Sure hope your mom feels better soon after her surgery.
I'd been watching the weather reports on TV, yeh, you guys got walloped with snow.
At least you have the Railroad trip to look forward to, that'll be exciting for you.:-)
Well....take some time to relax, now you can breath a bit easier knowing things are going to be better. I'd be stressed too if I had all of that on my mind. (((Hugs))) my friend.

how can Wallyworld get by with no liability insurance?.. is that legal?..I think I'd find another lawyer.. or take them to civil court to get her medical expenses back.. I am sorry to hear this

Walmart does have liability insurance...they can't be in business without it. They just don't like to pay claims for slip and fall accidents. They make the injured party hire a lawyer and take them to court rather than offer a settlement.
Found this on the web....hope it helps

Hey Jim, do not ever give up on your faith in God. Never ever!
And walmart.......... get a better attorney......... lol... seriously!
I got robbed in there myself and the manager on duty told me he was the only security on sunday, because I asked him to view the tapes......... they are just bullshit walking. I did not lose enough to ask another customer to call the police........ because Walmart would NOT!
I dread going there. They have NO security......... if you think they do ..... wrong, it is a joke.
