Geez, it isn't enough we get emails all the time from scammers. Now they are calling us on the phone. AND, they know our names. How do they get your phone number and name?

Some of your so called FRIENDS sent it to them. You know, those people that are NOT very educated on computers that forward tons of emails without deleting YOUR personal information, YOUR email address and signature (often of you BUSINESS ADDRESSES, too) and of course, do not forget, they do NOT send blind carbon copy or also known as blind courtesy copy better known as Bcc.

What IS Bcc, blind courtesy or carbon copy someone might ask? (Ah, one of the people that sends our personal PRIVATE information to scammers is asking that question. Yes...YOU! ) YOU are the problem. Not the scammers. They do not have anything YOU did not send them for free! Just so they can screw over innocent people because YOU do not know how to send emails PRIVATELY, SECURELY and with COURTESY and RESPECTFULLY! YOU!

Here are some links. Read them and use so you are not giving your friends and family to rip off artists.

Wiki Bcc

http://www.gordano.com/kb.htm?q=239

By the way, for those of you who say...I don't know how to find Bcc. I never saw that before.... look it up on the place where your address to send to says To: that email services will pop up three columns labeled To:, Cc and Bcc and some will pop up a box that has three options to the side with the same choices.

Now, again, someone will say... I tried to send it that way and it would not work! Then your service or one of the people you are emailing will have to send something in the To: space for the group emails to go thru.

Now, instead of making some friend of yours the sacrificial lamb you put in the To: position that makes it go when you Bcc, put ANY ol thang in there. How about doomaflatchy(at)diggerydoodotcom? (you use the at @ sign and the real dot. MD erases anything they think is a real email address so I put the written form of it instead of the symbols) Or doodooheadatredneckmamadotcom. It does not have to be a real address to make it go.

Yes, you will get back a message saying your fictitious address did not go thru but that is way better than making friends and family a target for spammers and scammers.

Oh, there is one way that is even better to stop making them a target. Stop sending those group mushy emails. Or the inflammatory hate mails hating some ethnic group or political person or party or country. Or the ones that say to send it to everyone or you will be CURSED! (Write the sender back and tell them you do not accept curses and you are sending the curse back up the line. Watch the fearful scramble on THAT one.)

Or the ones saying after you send this something cool will happen after you email it... Or the ones saying you will make money if you do...dang...let's try THAT! Duh... those are actually sent by scammers and spammers so they can harvest your emails that are sent in bulk by people not educated in email security. And, they do NOT WORK! It is a hoax.

They do not get YOU anything and some azzwipe on the internet is harvesting those addresses and selling ALL your addresses that YOU sent to everyone that has a hundred other email addresses in them. Selling them so they can scam and spam to and if they do not use it for that, then they use your addresses as the FROM email and your friends' and family's email addresses now beCOME spammers.

Why? Because they send it out using YOUR harvested addresses as the place the email came from and when somebody gets the spam in their inbox, they mark it as spam. This is why YOUR emails and friends and family's emails start going to spam filters. YOU did it to yourself and them. Feel nice? NO.

So just stop the madness. Quit doing destructive things to people WITHOUT their permission. Did they ask to be on your forwarding junk mail list? NO.

Did you ask THEM if they wanted to be on your junk mail forwarding list? NO. Get smarter, please. Someone could seriously be harmed by negligence on OUR part by sending thoughtlessly on the internet. Stop the madness!

I never forward anything. I reject forwarded email. Whenever I am emailing something to multiple recipients I BCC: It's foolish not to.

Now forward this to everyone in your address book by midnight or God will hate you forever and the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny will come and kick the crap out of you..

A friend tried to rent a spare room on Craig's list, and what did she get? Nigerian scammers.

They wanted to send a big check to cover the rent and deposits, and said they trusted her so send them the change. Right.
