.....Let Me Love You
What you sing when hope is more than reality...desire is just an illusion...what could be...should be...won't be...and you don't want to face it...you just hang on and on....the carrot in front keeps you going on...and yet you know the stick holding it out is longer than you will ever reach...why do you keep on wanting it?
The old comedy routine..."It can happen!"....could..but will it? What disaster has to happen before all options are vanquished and last resort becomes what was desired all along?
How do you know what you had til it's gone?
Do you push it away to avoid it leaving you? Give up your dream cause it is not real? It is only in YOUR mind?
Do you tell or keep it to yourself?
Do you give up the elated feelings and energy that were there for a short time to be replaced with more familiar depression and go back to your cave to hermitize?
If only...if only....if only you would let me love you....and then...perhaps,,you would know what it is to be loved,...and be able to love in return....
Is it better to love than to never be loved? I will never know...will I?
