I think today was one of the best days I have had in a very long time. I got up early this morning and made coffee and walked outside, it was a cloudy day and pretty windy. My kind of weather 
Last month we asked our landlord if he had a small tiller, because Mom and I have decided to plant a small garden, you know just a few tomato plants, maybe some cucumbers  Ive never planted a garden or ever worked in one  but I was ready to try.
Well he came by and as I was working on my computer he showed up in one of the biggest tractors Ive ever seen  and I swear he dug up about 1/2 a block of land  All my Mom could manage to say was OMG  how the heck can I work all of that  all I could do was laugh 
But I want you to know we now have tomatoes, cucumbers, lima beans, squash  potatoes, green beans, lettuce,green peppers, green onions and 4 yes 4 rows of sweet corn And I am so proud to say they all are growing beautiful and strong  . While watering the tomatoes on one branch I counted 8 little tomatoes  I cant wait until all of it is ready to pick and eat   I dont think anything tastes any better then picking a ripe red tomato adding a sprinkle of salt and just biting into it 
When I found out I had to have surgery I quit smoking I pray for the very last time so Ive tried to find things to keep me busy and this garden of mine is one of the best ways Ive found and I am enjoying every minute of it.

I say GO FOR IT!! God has placed an opportunity in your hands to heal and grow..Work the soil with your hands, and chew sugarless gum..I did while I was quitting. Nicotine patch and regular sugarless gum... God Bless!

WOW you got you some garden there .. I remember the last big garden I had .. it was so much fun .. my kids were young then and they pulled the wagon and we'd load it up with veggies... right now I have tomatoes and watermelons .. maybe next year I'll plant more...
I got blooms but no tomatoes .. your way ahead of me

I have tomatos with blooms, cucumbers and squash up and growing and I may still set out a pepper or two. I am so glad you have quit that darn smoking.  Look at all the money you will save plus save your life. What a great combination.

I like electricmans idea of sugarless gum .. that's what I'm using to keep me from eating ice cream and all those yummy things I can't have .. Trident has lots of new flavors .. today I got Tropical Twist very good

I love gardening too, very peaceful . .but I don't have a house here in usa i don't ahve my own land to do it like my thailand

carrots plant carrots.
then plant more carrots in mid july and you will have carrots all winter,
fresh cooked carrots with a little butter are almost like candy

John you know your carrots .. only once in my life have I grown beautiful carrots and I can't remember what I did ...lol they were beautiful .. the tops went to the rabbits and the carrots to us and yes they are sweet.
