It is often said, but tis very true.....others don't "know"us...we put forth different "versions" of ourselves to whoever we are before....it is natural...like the author who "writes for his audience"...
Our friends have a closer look into our "being" than strangers...yet...do we really disclose all? Don't we keep some secrets? AND...wish that our secrets and understanding of them be known?
"It's so cold lying here all alone...don't know why but the one I love left me...I need someone's arms to hold me til I'm strong enough to get on my feet...." but what if that love never was? Only hoped for? dreamed of? Do we hurt less or more?
Is only a moment ...forever? Sometimes it is...good or bad.....We relive them...those moments...We listen to other's moments and wish they were our own...and we cry...tears of..."if only..."
and listening to Willie Nelson's "I Never Cared For You".. and "Always On My Mind"
but......just a friend??? "But You Don't Know Me...".
and sooo...it goes.....
"Life is not what we want it to be...it just is the way it is...."
cause you don't know me......

What a truly wonderful blog. Do we really know anyone. Several times in my own life I have been stunned by this very fact and sometimes delightfully stunned by the fact that I don't know myself nearly as well as I think. LOL! Hugs Michael. Great Songs by the way.

This is so true Fran, we can live a lifetime with someone and yet never know them, and they in turn would never know us completely. In fact, I don't think we love long enough to even know ourselves. That song "Always on my Mind" is not only one of my favorites, but it was playing the night of my 20 year reunion when I had a wonderful dance with an old crush!!

This is so true Fran. Can't tell you the times people tell me who I am, how I feel, and they know what I need or want, and actually couldn't be so far off base. All it would take is just a little time to listen for each of us to know, but many are so self centered and are thinking of what they want to say themselves they aren't hearing what their mate is saying, they have no clue.
