Hello Mum and Dad,
I finally got a chance to use my computer....she has drifted off to sleep at last. I am typing as fast and as quietly as I can in hopes I may give you a just a small glimpse at the last few days with misschoos ( with a small "m" because that is the way she likes it.)
We have been absolutely non stop since the moment she arrived. I was quite behind in my housework, as she mentioned earlier...it's true. But she doesn't seem to mind. I was quite relieved. She has been ever so helpful. Everything is almost caught up.
We have spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in the bars, seeing and meeting the very best people Wyoming has to offer. In fact just last night , she got a ride home with my guitar player. I never worry about her however. She can take quite good care of herself. I actually worry more about those folks she meets.
I am happy today was finally a day off. We spent it in the oldest bar in Wyoming, in downtown Hartsville, Wy. It is located right next door to the Hartsville Fire Department, and so we were feeling very safe. In fact, the bar maid, who also happened to be the owner, was from jolly old England herself, and they both got to talking so fast I couldn't understand a thing. Although I do understand more now than I did before she arrived. I think the American mustard was an issue, not to mention the cloudy wheat beer we were enjoying. Or at least I was.
We spent most of the day riding around Wyoming, checking out all the oldest bars we could find, and eating Buffalo Burgers. She really likes those apparently. I think she is warming up to the fact she may have a thing for American guitar players and Buffalo Burgers.
It seems that the Black Box Wine from California is a favorite, thank God, as I was worried I was going to be hard pressed up against a wall to find a decent bottle for her evening meals, as well as the morning and noon ones. She seems very pleased with it, and often remarks how there could not possibly be 4 bottles of wine it that small of a box. I challenged her to see if she could drink a box by herself in two days, and after the first day, she has decided there is a faint possibility that there really could be four bottles worth in the box after all.
Also a big relief was the fact that as it turns out, we DO have real food in America! I am sure you are happy to hear it. She seems to enjoy everything I have put in front of her so far, including Necco Waffers, Sugar Daddies, Dots, Paydays, Beef Jerky, Root Beer and any kind of chocolate. Later this week I will take her to a few of the best restaurants we have here in town, including Franks Extra Large Weinners, McDonalds, and of course the Hometown All You Can Eat Buffet. I am sure she will be thrilled.
So I better go now. I am afraid to disturb her rest....she has had such a terrible jet lag, and I am afraid the poor thing doesn't know we eat breakfast as the sun comes up rather than as it is go down. Hopefully tomorrow, she will be a little more accustomed to the time differential, and will begin to feel a bit more like the beautiful person she really is. Besides, it is so difficult for me to sleep while she is doing the cleaning and laundry.
She isn't scheduled to leave for another two weeks, and I for one will be sooo sorry to see her depart. I love watching her cook, even though we can't put gravy on a durn thing 'round here. Tomorrow she is going to teach me to cook fish. Hopefully she can catch one while I am off having a pint with my friends. And the roast she has promised for Sunday afternoon promises to be a treat for sure.
She really is a joy to be with Mum, and I am glad she has had the courage and determination to travel so far to visit a guy like me. I think she is a most remarkable woman. I wish you could have heard the response from the crowds I played for this weekend, when I performed her songs. People love them, and they love her as well.
She is a truly nice person, with a curiosity for life that is inspiring me to be a better man. And I mean that.
We are having a fun visit.....and it was worth the wait.
Stay tuned
