Oddly enough I cannot be bitter about losing my hair to chemo because even more odd is the reaction I have had to my "new" hair cropping up!

I look at "before" pics with my long, dark and curly hair and think to myself.. that was a long time ago..I do not even feel like the same woman anymore.
It's been very interesting watching my new "mane" growing.. at first very fair, almost blonde-like.. and just this week becoming more salt and pepper looking with some lovely highlights of silver! ( I now know where my son gets his cowlicks from )

Sure, I can dye it but I am not sure I want to anymore.. I am really starting to like this new short, sassy and silver look. It suits me

Funny how a thing like hair style and color can change your entire way of thinking.. well.. actually.. the cancer/chemo thingee started it all off. I view life differently these days. Simple things have taken on new meaning and those things once thought important have suddenly faded into oblivion .... odd how that works!

It's somewhat difficult to explain unless you have been where I am now....I am the same woman but at the same time, I'm not the same. I feel much freer.. not worrying about my hair. When I was bald I had some moments of feeling like I was on display and at the same time, really having fun watching peoples reactions to my lack of hair. People are quite amusing at times Now that my hair is growing back in in full force I have decided I LIKE who I am even more then before. I look in the mirror and tell myself how lucky I am to even have hair.. indeed to even be alive to celebrate my new silver look! Coming face to face with the possibility of death really puts a new swing on things, wouldn't you agree?

So when life gives you silver.....embrace it .. not everything has to be about the gold ...silver isn't such a bad state of mind
