Yes, as everyone knows the camp out was a couple of weeks ago. Wiccked did a very good job describing all the fun we had (she has a way with emoticons ). Although her blogs didn't end up with the other blogs you can check them out here until they get it straightened out.

Most of us arrived on Thursday and the rest came on Friday. A couple of people came by just for the day and it was great to see them. Some managed to sneak in and surprise us all. I will let the campers announce themselves.....( in case I forget someone ). The campers that I will mention everyone already knows......the wedding couple.......Luvvy and Duvvy. The bridal shower and wedding were the best part of the camp out next to meeting new and old friends.

This year the weather didn't cooperate with us as much as it did last year. We set up camp amid water puddles but we managed to find some high and dry ground to work with...until the storm hit Friday night and almost wiped us out. We managed to get the bridal shower in between the rain bursts. We had a couple of tent poles break in the storm but duct tape and some extra sticks got us thru the weekend. Other than having to watch for mud holes around the picnic tables the rest of the weekend was cold but fairly dry......we hardly had anyone get sunburned like last year but I think a few of us went home with colds.

The bridal shower had to be the first of it's kind......a redneck Hawaiian shower. Complete with leis, grass skirts, cowboy boots and hats, neckerchiefs and beer cap bouquets surrounded by tropical fruit. The local's who came to the snack shop while we had the shower must have thought that the looney bin had lost some of it's best kept secrets.

The wedding took place Saturday evening and the ladies did a wonderful job decorating. Luvvy looked beautiful as she walked down the aisle to Duvvy who was singing to her as she approached. I don't think there was a dry eye by the time they were announced as Man and Wife. We had shish kebobs and fresh fruit for the wedding feast and then the bride and groom sat up with some of us around the fire until 3:30 am talking and telling jokes.

Sunday we had to say good bye to some of our friends that had to get home. We had our awards ceremony and played a team trivia game of sorts that ended in a tie. The rest of the day was spent with everyone chatting and enjoying each other's company. Again.....some of us were up until 4 am around the fire.

Monday morning it was a quick breakfast of left over wedding cake and coffee as everyone began to pack up and go home. I hated to say good bye to everyone.......some of us were plotting to call everyone in sick for the whole summer and stay there in the cabins but alas it couldn't be.

I was so happy to see all of my old friends from last year and it was such a pleasure getting to meet new friends this year. I miss them all and can't wait for the next time that we are able to get together for a few days and have the time of our lives.
