Im up early again this morning.....and as usual.....theres nobody here.....so i decided to start the big load of dishes that my daughter just hasnt the time for....and put on some beatles for some background music.......i like all of their music...but one song has always touched me...even as a kid.....in fact.....i told myself if i ever get married again....im going to sing this song to my new bride......it talks of change and the ups and downs of everyday living.....plus.....that one special woman that he holds above everything else.....i know you cant hear the music on here.....or my angel like voice singing it....but here is how it goes.......there are places i remember.....all my life......though some have changed.....some for ever not for better......some are gone...but some remain.....but of all these friends and lovers.....there is no one...compairs with you.....and these memories lose their meaning...when i think of love as something new......though i know ill never lose affection.....for people and things.....that came before.....and i know ill always stop and think about them.....but in my life....ive loved you more......so down the road some day.....ill be singing this very song to my new bride at our wedding......im sure...knees will weaken......and hearts may be broken as i confess my love to one woman.......but you gotta figure......they had their chance......and if you snooze...you lose.........you women out there might want to take this as a lesson......the next time you write some guy off.....he may turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to you......if you would have just givin him a chance......by the way.....the song is called.......in my life.......the first song that really touched me....and made me think that that kind of love is really out there.......somewhere........cookie

I haven't listened in a few months, but the local 'oldies' radio station plays 'Beatle Brunch' on Sunday mornings. It's a syndicated radio show with Beatles music, documentary and trivia. Maybe I'll tune in and listen this morning.
In the mean time, here's a link to The Beatles with >> In My Life <<

Something else that was so cool about this song.....they were the first group to use a harpsichord in modern day music.....i know their producer thought they were nuts at first.....but then realized that it was just one more thing the beatles did back then to change the face of music forever,......the only time i ever seen one...was on the adams family.......way back then..... ....cookie

But in my life............I've loved you more. I've always loved this song. I can just envision you singing this, cookie, to your woman.....and right at the end......handing her a red rose. How romantic! I have to tell you, though. I also love the way Bette Midler does it. It's really beautiful, too.

I love that song, too. I hadn't thought of it in a while and it was nice to hear it again. (Thanks, Chat!) The words are so perfect to begin the rest of your life with someone. Sometimes I think there are expectations that our past experiences are to be forgotten so that we can move on. I think everything that happens to us affects who we are in some way, whether it's good or bad. This isn't to say that we should dwell on our past, but we need to acknowledge we had a past. Thanks for writing such a thought provoking blog. By the way, I'm giving you my first ever kudo!

so romantic cookie
as i was reading the words the tune was playing in my head. so happy i was born in the generation i was...
I was watching a program called Antiques Roadshow (its a BBC show), admiring all the antiques from around the world that i couldnt afford. People brought old books, paintings, jewelery, boxes, clocks and so much more. Anyway i was surprise to see a Jefferson Airplane poster - they said hippie memorabilia was very valuable and this poster would fetch $2500 in a USA,.... amazing, there were many pieces much older than that poster, which were not valued so highly.

In My Life was voted 23rd best song of all time out of 500 on the RollingStones list..
In several other lists.. it is considered number 1
I think John Lennon was one of the best song writers around.. I think between Him and George.. they wrote some of the most relevant and thought provoking music in there time..
You started the day in a great Up Beat way!!
