I think we all have gotten that call.... Where someone has called you but expecting you were someone else They simply dialed the wrong number....or did they?....
Lemme esplain.....
Not long ago I received one of those late night calls where I think she may have had a drink or two before getting up the courage to call... But it was about 2 or 3 in the morning, when my phone rang.. Usually when a call comes in that late, it means someones in trouble, someone really misses you, someone calls you just because they can't sleep or it's the Wrong Number!
Well I don't know about you but when I'm woke up in the middle of the night, my voice and brain sometimes are deeper and slower then normal...
But when this particular call came in...I couldn't help my self! I just went with it.... and it went like this...
I answered my phone with Hello...I usually do that
She said..Hi baby....how are you?
I'm thinking who is this, I don't recognize the voice
So ....that's right I just went with it, here's how it went...
I said Hey baby...I'm doing good how are you?
She said, just missing you....
I said, well I miss you too......
She said, I'm so sorry that I hurt you...
I said me too, but I'm trying to deal with it,
She said, I never meant to hurt you I don't know what I was thinking?
I said ....Don't cry baby..it's okay I understand, we all make mistakes...
She said, but I didn't mean for things to go as they did and I really do miss you
I said...I really miss you too Baby, and wish it would have been different...
Now at this point I'm really struggling with who is this and what in the heck is she talking about?
She said, do you miss me? like I miss you?
I said yes of course I miss you, you meant everything to me....
Surprised she said I did??? why you didn't tell me that before?
oops! I'm thinking I got to quit being such a good communicator cause other Dude wasn't...
So in my cleverness I said.... I just always assumed you knew how much you meant to me, and how I felt for you....
She said, it really would have helped if you would have told me... then I would have known...
So I said, I tried Girl really I did, you have no idea how many times I wanted to just hold you in my arms and tell you how I really feel and how in love with you I am.... at this point I think I might have been falling in love with her lol......... call me crazy but she was puttin the moves on me in the middle of the night! what was I to do?
She says...wait a minute what did you just say?
I'm like uh oh.....I was telling you how I feel..
She said...you never talk about feelings! who is this??....
I'm like who is this?
She said I must have the Wrong Number...
I'm like no you have the right number, wrong person....
she starts laughing and says I'm so embarrassed
I'm like don't be..wasn't I there for you in your time of need?
I understood where you were coming from I shared my feelings with you, allowed you to apologize and get some things off your mind...
So it was the right Number just the wrong person!
consider this a practice run... I was just trying to be there for you..I'm a giver! so I wished her good luck when she makes the next call....
Folks ya never know when a stranger needs you to be there for them.... she never called back so I think they may have worked it out...
Has anyone ever had a wrong number call, and just went with it?

nope but i do have someone sending text messages to say he loves me. he phoned to start off with and since then sends text messages. trouble is no-one has this number so it WAS just a random call.
i will get his number blocked when i think about it when next i am out. it slipped my mind till your question came.
it means nothing...

I had a wrong number followed by a wrong text message. This poor guy apparently was in major hot water with his girlfriend. He called my number and I explained nicely that he had the wrong number. He called my number 2 more times apparently not believing me. I put my phone on silent and he called leaving messages in which he was crying...and...begging. Then he texted my phone saying he would never mess with another girl if she would take him back. I wish I had thought to reply like you did. It might have been interesting!

I had one of those midnight pervert calls.. never did find out who it was.. but I out- perverted him and he hung up after about 10 minutes.. I laid in the bed chuckling to myself for the rest of the night.. I never knew I could talk so dirty..

I used to get calls asking to speak with Herbert. I politely explained to the caller that they had the wrong number. They apologized and hung up. A few weeks later, I got another call asking for Herbert. "Sorry, Herbert doesn't live here," I said. After a few more phone calls for Herbert, I finally told them: "Haven't you heard? Herbert joined the Army and got shipped off to Europe." After that, no more calls for Herbert.

I too did something silly to a perv that called. I started whooping and hollering like I was so excited that I finally got a pervert to call, I pretended to tell people that weren't even there that I had a perv on the phone, then I told him, "Okay go ahead start perving" and they hung up on me too.

Ever since I got my new phone number about 2 years ago, I've been getting calls for Juan, the guy that used to have my number. Every time somebody calls, I explain that he hasn't had this number for X-amount of time and I'm sorry. Sometimes we exchange a bit of small talk and laugh before we hang up.
Then, last Christmas, I got a call. It went something like this:
Me: Hello?
Him: Hi! This is Juan. I hear you've been getting a lot of calls for me!
Me: (laughing) Yea, I have. Don't you ever call your friends when you change your number?
Him: I lost my old cell phone and all my numbers. Do you think you could do me a favour? If anyone calls for me, can you give them this number?
I told him I would, but then like an idiot, I didn't save his new number. 
Sorry Juan! In the meantime, I'm STILL screening your calls, two years later.

Years ago, I use to have a lil old lady that would call ..
getting a 'wrong' number..
and I would chat with her for awhile..
then she would hang up..
I got several of those calls..
and I would always chat for a bit with her..
I figured she was lonely..
and what is a few minutes of my time??
I may be the 'caller' one day..
