The sunshine only lasted through the morning yesterday. By afternoon, the clouds moved back in and it rained all night.
This morning was cool , rainy and just plain quiet. Sat on my back porch with a cup of coffee and Oz, The Great and Powerful.
The boy is with his Mom in Seattle. Choosie went home Monday. I think she forgot her weather.
I left the shop early yesterday and went home to be a homebody. Got the laundry going, cleaned out the fridge, went to the shop for a rib eye and some wine.
Spent the afternoon completely washing and cleaning the back porch and my grills.....got it all ready for my rib eye. Lit the grill, and when it was ready, put a potato in to bake. Rubbed it first with a little butter and some garlic just to be a little special.....I just was gonna fix me a special meal to celebrate the emotional last few weeks of school and the departure of the boy, and the happy times I just enjoyed. Sort of a "yeehaw, damn that was fun, now it's quiet" sort of dinner. Know what I mean? Just something to make me feel good. Figured if I was gonna be alone, I was at least gonna eat good. Damn good.
Made a delicious and colorful quick fry of a zucchini, onion, tomato with cilantro and cheese as a side dish. And some garlic bread toasted on the grill. Just being a homebody....
Oz, The Great and Powerful is most excellent company. He followed me around all afternoon. When I went upstairs, he did too. In and out, up and down...he was my shadow. Curious beyond normal, he pokes around checking everything out, and of course, is always ready to play. He is interested in everything.
Turns out, apparently he got real interested in my rib eye.
I just kinda noticed it wasn’t where I had left it.
*sigh*
My frozen cheeseburger took extra long to cook, but was especially tasty with the wine. Wish I would have remembered to take the baked potato out of the coals while it was still a baked potato. The zucchini stuff was delicious, but was over cooked and didn't look right sitting next to a cheeseburger. It was supposed to be next to a rib eye. A really thick rib eye...perfectly marbled....
The garlic bread made a good roll for the cheeseburger.
Potato chips, wine, and cheeseburgers. And the zucchini crap.
The rain was nice too.
After the third glass of wine, everything was nice.
It's still raining today. Oz, The Great and Powerful was not hungry this morning like usual. I have no eye dear why.
The rib eye was one of three in the package.
Oz The Great and Powerful doesn't stand a chance tonight.
I may be jello, but I ain't no dummy.
*********** There has been a man in my shop for the last hour. While I am writing this blog, he is playing the piano. The door is open, the rain is off and on, cool air....and he is amazing. His music is beautiful....really sweet. George Winston like….
I am fighting back tears. not sure why....doesn't matter really.
Life is so good. I like it when my emotions are extremely sensitive. I like it when I seem to be aware of everything around me. Super sensitive...
I wish I had been more aware last night.
Oh well….Oz better have his game on tonight. He doesn't stand a chance.

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone. It's not warm when she's away. Ain't no sunshine when she's gone and she's always gone too long anytime she goes away.
Wonder this time where she's gone, wonder if she's gone to stay Ain't no sunshine when she's gone and this house just ain't no home anytime she goes away.
And I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
Hey, I ought to leave the young thing alone, but ain't no sunshine when she's gone, ain't no sunshine when she's gone, only darkness everyday. Ain't no sunshine when she's gone, and this house just ain't no home anytime she goes away. Anytime she goes away. Anytime she goes away. Anytime she goes away. Anytime she goes away. sweet N Louisiana

I have no eye dear myself WHY as I read this blog, I had that song in my mind.... "Ain't No Sunshine...." And after reading this I am fighting back tears. not sure why....doesn't matter really.
I was shocked when I got to the comments and I found the lyrics to that song.

Quit yer whinnin and eat the dog. Any dog that eats MY ribeye deserves the electric spit over good mesquite chips. Watch out for the perils of anthropomorphism. Start raising rabbits first, then move on up to swine. After that, watch Zimmerman on TV and you'll train yourself to view animals what they are. Bacon, beef and fat that may lead you to a shorter life but you'll be much happier. But then also, keep the beer cold. Good luck.
