Anyone who has ever lived in or near the mountains will know what I am writing about when I say just how familiar they feel and how much I miss them when I am away. I am in Montrose Colorado with a super view of the San Juan Range whenever I go out. I live in the Ozarks and I love the greenery and the lakes. Anyone who calls the Ozarks "Mountains" must have never seen real ones. I love where I live but there are so many places I could live just as easily.

I am glad to be here and I am glad I am able to visit periodically. I love seeing the work here of such talented crafts people and I get a lot of ideas and inspirations here. Already I have found some really great logs to take home with me to build a new log bed from.

It was also good to meet CrackerJackPat recently and I consider that one of the highlights of my trip.

I moved here to Utah about 9 years ago.. My home is right up against the Wasatch mountains.. I work less than 10 minutes from home.. To this day, I still come out of work and can't stop looking at the beautiful mountains that I am so luck to be living next to.. I about 10 minutes from my home, I can be at the summit of one of local mountain peeks.. I understand where you are coming from.. there is just something about the grandeur and spectacle of those mountains that have seen millions of years that make them feel so special.. I have been blessed..

You said it....

And it was only when I came to Boise that I realized how much I had missed seeing the mountains. In Switzerland, there is no place where you can't see the mountains. But here, I've spent several years in southern Texas and then in NW Arkansas..... Something was missing, but I couldn't really point out what.... until I moved to the mountains.

The fishermen on Bali believe that the good spirits live in the mountains, and the bad ones in the sea. I wouldn't go so far. But it sure is nice to have the mountains around and to be able to rest my eyes on them....

Yes, I lived in Utah...beautiful mountains.....I live outside of Seattle and I have to say that we have the most beautiful mountain in the world....Rainier. I look at it everyday out of my kitchen window.......I have traveled all over the country....nothing compares. The close second in the Tetons....Wyoming ....Wind River Ranger. Beautiful!!

It all sounds beautiful. No mountains here in Minnesota, but some of us are real good at making mountains out of mole hills!

It was also good to meet CrackerJackPat recently and I consider that one of the highlights of my trip.

This is sooooo sweet.
