Politically I am a Goldwater Republican. I lean toward libertarian, keep the government out of your wallet and the bedroom. Yes, there was a day when these Republican creatures roamed the earth. In my low IQ opinion Washington is paralyzed by special interest groups, tribalism and the need to raise money. Oh, do they know how to divide us with hot button issues, but; if America is to come back from failure it is we that will have to do it. Why do we put up with a inferior educational when we know it doesn't have to be. I don't have the answer as to why we put up with it, but; the fact we do put up with it answers the question why people get the government they deserve. I don't need a high IQ to know what special interest has what party in their pocket in regard to our school system, or to know what special interests have the other party in their pocket. If we don't learn to put these hot button issues to the side for now it is game over. We are fighting about abortion and gun control when we should be working toward solutions as to why abortion and crime is out of control.

	I played Goldwater in our school mock elections as a 3rd grader... Does that make me a Goldwater Republican? Later that year...I was Lincoln in our class presentation on the civil war...maybe I'm a Lincoln Republican?? Or...I use to use a giant Agnew election poster as a dart board overlay in college. Does that make me a Nixon Republican? Good blog though..the question of how WE get to the future is a question that requires leaving labels and preconceptions outside. Building any healthy relationship, interpersonal or communal, requires dialogue, which requires listening far more than speaking. If we don't, the closed nature of preconception leads in one direction...conflict towards extinction. Course...it requires a certain level of self-awareness to grasp how closed one's mind is to listening...and actually hearing...and that is a level of work few are trained to do.

	Peoples apathy has allowed the wrong people to be in power. We have the idea that if we do nothing, that things will work out for the best in the end. Well, look at what has happened so far. Not only the president, but those in congress and the senate. This has been going on for so long that people lay the blame on the ones they allowed to be voted in. It goes beyond party lines. Thats the one thing that people seem to forget. When they take their right to vote for granted, they have no real basis to complain when it doesnt work out the way they want. We need to be more proactive in what we do. We want the best and complain when its not handed to us the way we want. Larry
