We are hamsters running on the wheel of change and technological progress.

The current financial system will fail... there is no doubt. Computers and technology are going to take over anyway. So its just a matter of time before there are riots, with less and less jobs available due to technological progress. Only after our existing structure is torn down, can a new international structure be formed. I look forward to a new power structure which will have to conform to the will of the people. The existing one has collapsed, within 10 years the damage will be evident.

As we have already seen, change has begun and progress is inevitable. There is hope, if you havent see this 2 hour video i suggest you do.

2 hour video

After seeing this i signed up here, its worth reading whats on the site too:
www.thezeitgeistmovement.com

Are we not all sick of the:

> Banks who repossess our homes using federal reserve monopoly money
> Large corporations who's profit incorporates scarcity and cuts out the little guy
> The elitists who's drive for greed and money keeps us in servitude
> Fossil fuels, oil and gas and all other pollutants of our globe
> All government officials who instil fear and steal while at it
> Religious fanatics who ostracize anyone who doesnt share their belief

What takes its place: Simple, (it has already begun... so there's no stopping technicians and technology now)

* A New Social System of connection that includes the community, plants and animals and in so doing will create a wealth of abundance
* New leaders chosen from the professions of: teaching, medical, scientists, naturalists, engineers and security
* Redesigning the system to include Maglev Energy for Intercontinental Transportation, Battery storage, Geothermal Energy, as well as solar/wind/wave/tidal power.

A new educational system will have to replace the old to include incentives to study:

* The Arts
* The power of the mind
* Problem solving
* Philosophy
* Science
* Sports
* Entertainment
* New information awareness

In time as we move forward, there will be much more to explore i am sure. I for one look forward to these changes.

Once we understand that the integrity of our personal existence are completely dependent on the integrity of everything else in the world, then we have truly got the meaning of unconditional love.

Dizzy, this is a very thoughtful blog. I don't believe our financial system will fail, because I believe it already has. It's more of a question as to when the majority of our citizens and people around the world realize it.

I would definetely like to see less lawyers and big businessmen in congress. I would also like to see less politicians in congress. By this, I mean less people who have made a life out of one of these offices and running for offices. On the other hand, greed isn't strictly for one class of people and I'm afraid if put in power, we might find that teachers, doctors, and enviromentalists, could be corrupted with money the same as anyone else.

By the way, I don't think you're dizzy at all

Right here, right now, we are all, globally, involved in one of the most global experiments non-violent in content, the world has ever seen. Can the world create a global economy that provides opportunity for the maximum number of people while reducing the human proclivity to cheat, steal, kill and laze around, AND, can we do that in a manner that requires we recover our well-being AND learn how to do this differently than we've done before?

this comment from Observe on another blog is encouraging and it prompted me to watch this video again.

Dizzy, the way I see it is, the people creating this global economy aren't doing it for any of the reasons that observe lists in his well thought out post. At this point, it is being developed soley by people with money, that want to make more of it. If it wasn't, you would see more of a push towards green technology in developing countries. All I see is companies utilizing (and raping) resources in countries, that are poor, desperate and can't afford to battle over conservation and money. They need money!!!!

Ya missed the big one Diz.... Self sufficiency. Those that can't fend for themselves have "programs", those who can are penalized by giga-reams of legislation to "keep em in the ghetto".... (i.e. land use, frivolous licensing, draconian enforcement of licensing, etc etc...)

Yep, change is in the wind, but it would sure be nice if it could happen without shots being fired. Most people (those with the gift of self sufficiency) are fed up, and the ballot box is not getting the job done, nor is the jury box. What else is left but the cartridge box??? Ask the post revolution U.K.

Good thoughts on your part anyway....

but thats what the video is all about, that is what must change... we must stop exploiting the poor for our benefit. Observes words of encouragement towards global change were inspirational, by just saying a new financial experiment is currently underway. I dont know if he has even seen this video, but his comment got me to write this blog and the one before "Freedom - Food for Thought"

There is so much to fix, the sooner the better

Dizzy, maybe I'm just being overly cynical here but the only I see the poor and natural resources not being exploited by the rich, is if it becomes profitable for them not to do so. I think the enviromental community has to provide solutions for business that are not only green friendly but are also cost effective. It can be done but I'm afraid the burden of this happening will be on the shoulders of the environmental community. Hopefully, this is what the video is about.

yes thats exactly what the video is about.... please do yourself a favor an watch it, then come back and comment again

its a very good production, you wont regret it... but you do need 2 hours cos it covers everything, starting with the monetary system which is in shambles. the video was only done in late 2008 so its pretty much up to date on current affairs

greed and overabundance I believe is an instinct..
It is as simple an instinct for humans as it is for a squirrel gathering acorns..

It is our instinct to gather more.. to have an overabundance as a way we show our worth.. our safety .. our power... no different than other animals of the forest..
Until we learn to react differently than an animal, things will not change..

Ok.. too deep for a sunday morning

and that is exactly where we have to focus on heading... it will take a long time but it will have to happen eventually

btw. i have a video about Nostradamus' predictions, called "The Man Who Saw Tomorrow" where he says all forms of paper money will be worthless in the future... that means bonds, stocks and shares, money., promissory notes, insurance policies etc.

now, not all of his predictions came true but this one shows it could be possible. with the rate of inflation as its climbing now, and more money being printed... pretty soon we will need a wheelbarrow of notes to buy a loaf of bread. this is already the case in many african countries sadly... and even tho they have the majority of raw materials, they are corrupted by politicians and business people world wide with MONEY...

when there is no more money, the corruption will go...........

idealistic perhaps, but its a wonderful consideration and i hope it happens in my life

Kudos Doll for quite an Interesting blog

Yes, we are on the verge of an Era of Massive change, we cannot continue for long as we have been that Is for sure. But, do have a care for the organizations you join...I do find the one you speak of interesting and will certainly research it...something one should do before committing oneself.

Also, Manifesting Abundance takes focus...most people are Sooo busy in this Rush, Rush frame of mind they have us in that they are not able to do such a thing. My suggestion for Anyone who wishes to investigate the path to abundance is to Really start with examining your lifestyle...Honestly Examining who you as a person are and What it is that You stand for...What kind of a World do you want to live in?

I also don't think you are That Dizzy...

I am looking at the site now,

http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/

The Movement Orientation Guide makes a simplified interesting read, at 83 pages.

The bottom line is that The Priority of Profit sets up an ‘us against them’ duality mentality, for, within the monetary system, there has to be a buyer-seller; a worker-employer; a client-owner; a have havenot. Given this reality, each party is forced to enable conditions that are most profitable for them, therefore strategic edges are always sought and thus a constant battle is always raging. We are constantly at war with each other in order to live. This battle creates little over time in the way of sustainable human progress, and the sick, polluted, distorted world you see around you is the result.|

Now, ‘Vanity’ aside, we must also examine the distorted values created in the form of mentalities and worldviews. This constant need of self-interest often spreads like a cancer into other psychological areas, creating and reinforcing such neurosis as “Greed”, “Jealousy” and “Ego”.

Greed is likely the driving force of the monetary system’s perpetuation, beyond just survival. Due to the inherent stratification of goods and services (and hence standards of living) available to those with more and more purchasing power, the human being is groomed to perpetually want “more” material wealth, for the “more” seems to go to infinity. The result is a culture which doesn’t have a concept of balance, or a sense of what is actually important, or “enough”. Advertising compounds this by its constant depictions of “the possibilities”, often making people question their own self worth because they do not “have the best things in life”, etc.

Jealousy appears to begin cultivation at a very early age, perhaps when the school teacher would praise the student who would make high marks, and scold the student who didn’t, making that student feel envious of the person who made the high grade. Regardless of its origin, a classic tactic of advertising is to exploit this neurosis by using the media to depict a person with something that you do not have, making you feel as though you need to have it in order to be “equal”. This is very similar to greed, with the exception being that people grow to despise others for what they have, creating social tension and often conflict.

Ego is often defined as ‘a feeling of superiority to others’. This distortion takes essentially two forms:
1) General superiority based on wealth class / or position in the social hierarchy
2) Arrogance regarding one’s creative contribution, demanding prestige, acknowledgement or other “rewards”.

Now, as for the former distinction of Ego noted above (“General superiority based…”) this is a class oriented disposition which, on one level, is a psychological means to make one feel better for having more than another human.

A wealthy person walking down the street finds it much easier to dismiss a homeless person, by saying “he is just a lazy bum”, as opposed to recognizing him as a victim of culture. On another level, blind elitism, in the form of a kind of ‘class based racism’ leads people to dismiss those with less purchasing power as simply being “inferior” or “undeserving”, for the social stature, education and lifestyle afforded by this elite, is vastly out of reach for those without similar
purchasing power, therefore creating gross differences in culture.

In the end, our values are based on what works and helps us create easier, better lives. If we live in a system that rewards competition, unenlightened self-interest, corruption, vanity and arrogance, then these are the values that will constantly be perpetuated in society. While many people give lip service to ‘honesty, caring for others and humility’, it is easy to see why these qualities do not prevail, for the
system of survival in society today does not support or reinforce them.

just a snippet, gosh we have become an ugly bunch

Wow...thougtful and intellectual observations from such a beautiful source is so refreshing. I worry for so many of us but I can only make changes in transportation. Trouble I'm having is that those who would benefit are ignorant about the source of their problems and/or have no confidence that innovation is possible if it has not occured already. But yes, those with the power and control over the system I am reforming have no personal experience with the systems at all and are often motivated only by having more power or more money exploiting the inefficiencies. But I am not daunted, though after 10 years I am growing weary...I reduced to living in vehicles and my diet is a challenge in frugal spending, but at least my partners continue to purchase the resources necessary for change. Capt.Cab Cards are coming...

Have a look at this website:

http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/

The Movement Orientation Guide link makes a simplified interesting read, at 83 pages. It is not perfect, nothing is... but its looking ahead rather than trying to fix something that is broke.

The Scientific Method basically has three steps:

1) Recognizing a new idea or problem that needs to be solved.
2) The use of logical reasoning to create a hypothesis, considering all information available.
3) Test the hypothesis in the physical world through observation.

A classical example of this goes back to Aristotle (384 BC – 322 BC). He hypothesized, through logical reasoning based on what he understood at that time, that a heavy object would fall faster than a lighter object of the same shape and material. He logically assumed that the more weight an object had, the faster an object would fall in a vacuum. However, he didn’t test the idea.

Because of this failure to properly use the scientific method, the world had to wait 2000 more years, for when Galileo finally tested Aristotle’s hypothesis…he found Aristotle to be wrong - weight does not determine the rate at which an object falls in a vacuum.

The point here is that it doesn’t matter how correctly reasoned our conclusions might be, they have to be tested . If we throw water onto a wood burning fire, the fire will likely go out. This gives us a certain degree of information that we gain inference from: “Water puts out fire”. While this theory might hold true for most fire scenarios, if you throw water onto an Oil Fire, the oil will quickly float to the top of the water and the fire will spread. Therefore the hypothesis that “Water puts out fire” is not exactly true, and would need to be revised to take this new scenario into account.

The Scientific Method is also an attitude; a perspective. No matter how ‘right’ something may seem, we are going to check it out by observational testing and actually see if it holds validity. In fact, we should to be very skeptical of any claim that cannot be seen or tested in the physical world.

Thinking outside of the box always brings rewards.

thank you all for reading and writing your views.

i am the eternal optimist, there is always a time and place for growth.... nothing can stop a movement to change, simply because the politicians of our world don't understand technology... FINALLY something is outside of their reach and so they are not able to tamper or contaminate it.

the greedy and power hungry have just shot themselves in the proverbial foot and cooked their golden egg. i await future progress with anticipation.
