Theres so many times over the years Ive changed myself in different ways, I remember getting bored with my hair colour so dyed it red, but then everyone said I looked like Fergie, (PrinceAndrews wife) so I changed it back, not because I didn’t want to look like Fergie, but because I was tired of the same old comments.

In the early 80’s when the Goth look started to become more of a craze, I lined my eyes in thicker back and wore a tasseled black leather jacket and high heeled black boots, but I didn’t dye my hair black like many did.

When I adopted my girls, I started to look more ‘mumsy’ wearing sensible clothes and twin set cardigans, I think I thought that it looked better at school meetings.

I haven’t really followed fashion as such, doing my own take on it, enough to fit in but at the same time being individual, me.

When I lived in Egypt, I loved wearing the long robes, I didn’t wear the veil that covered my eyes tho, and wore the head veil in my way, sort of more relaxed like you see some western reporters wear them. Say what you like about Islamic womens clothes, but when I wore them I felt incredibly feminine.

But no matter what style Ive worn, and no matter how Ive changed my hair, I always go back to what I feel is me, jeans and a T shirt. When I go out for the evening, I like to wear a bit of glitter and dangly earrings, and I never feel over dressed. I just like being me.

I remember some friends calling me the day before a night out and asking.. “What are you wearing tomorrow night?”
Like it was important for them not to look the odd one out, like we all had to look similar. I would always reply “I don’t know yet, something glitzy I expect.”
And it never worried me that my friends were dressed down compared to me, some of them dreaded the idea of looking different, but not me, if I thought I looked good that was all that mattered.

I suppose you could say I am not a sheep, I am not worried about looking different.

Its all about me and my inner sanctum, the real me.

What a Wonderful picture! Well, that's an Almost Fergie...for she is a true "Bluie".

Yes, it's great to look at things from a different perspective...perhaps try them on for size. But, Always being true to who you are, now that is one of the signs of a more advanced person...To be Able to look at oneself in the mirror and truely LIKE the person looking back... And, I'm Not talking about just Fashion trends here...

Great Blog, as always...Kudos

Amazing! You DID favor Fergie a LOT!

I've never been one to follow current fashion fads. I've noticed that many who do don't necessarily look good in those fads.....
I guess I am confident enough in being myself, that I don't find the necessity. I tend to be more of a traditionalist & go with the classics.
