a survey of people .in London revealed that a jug of Ice cold Pimms Number 1..and a mix of fruit..and even as a Picnic favourite!  ..tops the poll as best summery drink..
More than a third plumped for Pimms and spurne Rose[blush] and Lager..beer.. 
Pimms dates backto 1820..when a Bar owner ..James Pimm ,created a cocktail
~of Gin- Quinine ..and a favourite secret-Herbs!.....originally served as a digestif but soon became an "upper crust tipple[there was a £5.1 million advertising campaign ..last summer....and a Pimms bus is seen at Festivals-

I'm surprised that Campari and soda didn't make the list.

I remember serving pimms in a bar I worked in, personally I hated it, but it was very popular.
Summer for me means a long tall glass of white wine with some soda and lots of ice.
