I went swimming. Hardly a momentous event, considering the time of year, and the day, as well as the proximity of the pool to where I dwell.
There was something different in it, though. Sometimes, diving into the water, it is like diving into a full-body kiss. That is not meant in crudeness, but, in joy! Like a comforting, welcoming kiss of a formerly long-lost lover upon reuniting. Not ready for the bedroom, but, something beyond mere social convention.
The water was clear, and the waves shone, dancingly, beneath the searing sun. They frolicked amidst their own kind, and beckoned all who would gaze upon them to go further in, further out, further down; to relax and be soothed by their capable ministrations.
It is hard to express at times, hard to understand in depth, the weightiness of water. How something so transparent can be so deep; how something so gentle, can kill.
