Good morning!

Every now and again, I receive something that I feel is well worth sharing. This is one of them. May you find it as uplifting as I have.

This is AWESOME....something we should all remember.

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably combed and is shaven perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.

After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready. As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, a visual description of his tiny room was provided to him, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.

"I love it!" he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.

"Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait."

"That doesn't have anything to do with it", he replied. "Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged. It's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work.....or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away.....just for these times in my life.
Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories!"

Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank . I am still
depositing.

1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply..
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

Have a great day.............unless, of course, you already have other plans.

Life is truly all about attitude for the most of us. I am going to have a good day today even though I do not feel so well.

This reminds me of the little lady who woke up one morning with three hairs on her head when she looked into the mirror. She said, " I will braid my hair and go out and have a lovely day." And she did. The next day she got up and there were two hairs. "I will put my hair into two ponytails and have a lovely day." And she did. The third day she got up and had only one hair. "I will put it into a pony tail and have a lovely day." She she did and had a wonderful day. The fourth day, she got up and there were no hairs, so she said, "Thank God, I don't have to do anything" and she went out and had a glorious day. It is all in how you look at it. Thanks Summer.

A tremendous blog. I would only add one thing, and it is a very important thing that is often overlooked. Make sure you have fully accepted and love yourself first before doing any of those things. Simply because if you do not love and accept yourself first then all of the wonderful things you are rightfully advocating will cause extreme and deep damage to the human psyche. This is a major problem facing a lot of people in the world and one of the greatest problems and obstacles to spiritual growth in the world. Yes, you can make these choices but if you do not like and love yourself then you will only create deep psychological problems through avoidance, denial, and transference.

I remember hearing a comment from an ex to my son once that I took as a compliment saying, "Your Mom wakes up disgustingly happy".

Always have and always will.

You did it again Summerbreeze .
I know at one time or another I have seen this and it always fills my heart, my soul, my belief system, it always fills a void somewhere in me.
I will keep this copy in my bank, love is that gift, the only gift that the more one gives it away, the more it grows.
geez, that was a lame comment, thoughts can be difficult to put into words.
Thank you again.
