I dont get it.
Iran is a weak nation, with a weak military and weak economy. The people live under sharia law.... but so does saudi arabia. The government cracks down harshly on protesters... but so does Israel and china. We dont want to allow them to have nuclear weapons... but we allowed Israel, pakistan and india to get them... And how can we expect them NOT to want them when we (and Israel) have openly threatened them for the last eight years and meddled in their affairs for much, much longer, at least since 1953.
It makes no sense.
We, as a nation, are becoming the hypocrites of the world. And it saddens me.

Obama has been doing the right thing in this case.

Totally agree with your points other than the Wahhabi Sheiks rule Saudi Arabia (the home of Bin Laden and many of his apparatchiks ) but buy shed loads of weapons from the US and Britain so can be called allies.
Iran has a notional democracy ruled over my despotic clerics and miltary. Without them I think you would see a liberal democracy there.

oh, and there is absolutely no evidence that Iran is building nuclear weapons, btw. They have allowed in UN inspectors to their nuclear facilities (which are for civilian electricity generation and perfectly legal under international law). Israel has never allowed UN inspectors into their facility in the past 40 years, which is illegal. Hmmmmm... who's sneaky again???

It is nice going to the grocery store to buy food to survive, let this stop, and we are eating worms to survive many would be the first to say take over Iran and rename it Exxon. It is easy to be civilized when you can afford it. The drac, is not to far off. We worry about Iran having nukes for the same reasons we don't want Pakistan to fall into the hands of the fanatics. They may or may not use or sell them, but; it will make it much harder to have some kind of order in that part of the world.

I commend your forgiving nature, but most wars have been fought over injuries much farther in the past than 60 years. Would you relinquish rights to your house if thuggs managed to take it from you, and occupy it since the 50s ? I doubt it.
The words of religeous leaders over 1,000 years dead have a major affect on today's world, with many people ready to fight, kill, or die tor that reason alone.
And "they" worry about us having nukes for fear they might fall into the hands of religeous fanatics. Can you remember any mealy mouthed clergymen blessing some very recent wars we started based on totally false premises?

The States, Canada and UK... should have thought before experimenting with nuclear fusion, knowing full well of potential dangers... but of course they always know better. so its up to them to decide again who uses nuclear and who doesnt....now??

He did not say this, even though its been said in the media he did... the actual quote was "The Zionist regime will be erased from the pages of time." And they weren't his words anyway... he was quoting Ayatollah Khomeni. The misleading quote came from a "news" organization which had ties to Israeli intelligence.
And even if he did say this, what difference does it make to the U.S.? Israel is not an ally anymore, since the cold war ended. In fact, they are a burden... on our image in the world and our tax dollars.

What i meant by "allowed" was not that we gave permission (although in some cases we did). But we were not willing to act to prevent it... therefore "allowing" it.

and nobody in the world could stop Pakistan, the whole world tried even threatened them with sanctions and they said bring it on and went ahead anyway.
the US have chosen a very dangerous course by interfering with the Arabs from day one... choosing who should and shouldnt be in power etc... you know the history better than i. no Arab state has any respect for the US, in fact they hate Americans now.... they dont hate other countries as much as the US and probably the UK now too.

Actually.. Germany was the first to start work for the "bomb"
On August 2, 1939, just before the beginning of World War II, Albert Einstein wrote to then President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Einstein and several other scientists told Roosevelt of efforts in Nazi Germany to purify uranium-235, which could be used to build an atomic bomb..
And now it has come out that Japan toward the end of WWII almost accomplished the same thing.. and where close to testing it ..

This is not true... not sure where you got this from. After WW1 most the middle east countries were under british or french occupation, because of the break-up of the ottoman/turkish empire after the war, and actively fought on the side of the allies. in fact, many of the zionists during this time actually worked with the nazis, because hitler had considered transfer to palestine as a possible "solution to the jewish problem" in europe.
