We old dogs do learn new tricks, but we still keep all those old habits too. For good or bad the warts / spots / strips what call you stay with us.

Most in our group were not taught to be Gentlemen or Lady’s.
We were raised to be Chivalrous first. LOL Seems a lost art sometimes.

And Yes in my mind these two words are vastly different.

Common sense lessons came occasionally at the end of a strap or switch or a work toughened hand. My Mother never bothered with the “Wait till your Father get’s home” We were lucky if she remembered to take her rings off before we got a backhand. And to this day neither of my bothers nor I hold ill feelings for either of our parents.

Technology has made many things easier and much quicker. We all try to embrace it with differing levels of comfort. New lessons are learned in lives that seek them out. New lessons found on the doorstep or evening news or a book never opened before or before a keyboard and screen with a simple query on “what does that mean”.

We “Old Goats” know we are responsible for our actions. We do not place blame for why we did something. That responsibility includes learning every day is a gift and is full of opportunities to learn and grow. Yah we can learn new tricks but the old ones still hold true.
