'Charlie's Angel' Farrah Fawcett dies at 62
LOS ANGELES – Farrah Fawcett, whose stunning looks and blinding smile made her a pop icon of the 1970s, has died. She was 62.
Her spokesman, Paul Bloch, says Fawcett died Thursday morning in a Santa Monica hospital. Her 2 1/2-year battle with cancer was depicted in the TV documentary "Farrah's Story."
She burst on the scene in 1976 as one-third of the crime-fighting trio in TV's "Charlie's Angeles." A poster of her in a clingy swimsuit sold in the millions.
She left the show after one season but had a flop on the big screen with "Somebody Killed Her Husband." She turned to more serious roles in the 1980s and 1990s, winning praise playing an abused wife in "The Burning Bed."

Thanks to all that have posted. I was truley in love with this woman when she came on to the scene back in 1977...I was 7 and had the lil boy crush thing going on but in all...I remember the poster, the Farrah doll head thing where girls could do different hairstyles on her and the movies...awesome! Who could forget The Burning Bed....as a guy and watching that film...I wanted to stike the match on the f***er who hit her!!
RIP Farrah and may the stars shine in your name!!

I was 9 when I had my crush on her. She was the most beautiful woman I, or any of my friends had ever seen. Good memories.
She was an inspiration to stricken people the world over these last years, and it's sad for those who admired her, but she's at rest.
God bless her.

Yes she was beautiful both on the inside and the outside. I remember seeing that poster and thinking that she was indeed a woman that captured rare beauty. I am sure she has a special place in heaven. "RIP dear one"

She was a glamorous icon in the UK for decades too - and surely in the whole world. I actually wondered about her since I'd heard nothing for some time. The news on the BBC was like the end of an era. Very sad...

Thought her portrayal of Diane Downs in "Small Sacrifices" was extrordinary. Interesting that we're affected when cultural icons of our past die; maybe it reminds us of our own mortality.

There was far more to Farrah than most people ever gave her credit for. I gleaned some interesting information about her from this article that I just read on MSN.
As I am a collector of quotes, I made sure to save the following by Farrah which was included in the article....
The reason that the all-American boy prefers beauty to brains is that he can see better than he can think. R.I.P. Farrah

I watched " Farrah's Story" and sat and sobbed. She fought one hell of a battle, never giving up. But you could tell at the end of the film that the cancer was winning, she was so tiny and frail. but her faith was so strong. It's hard to imagine that she is gone. Bless her heart....the battle is over.
And I too had the "Farrah" hair at one point....
Thanks for the blog Legacy....
