When this earth was created, there wasn't any deeds given out to any country or people. Hence, the beginning of what we know as war.
It doesn't matter what religion or no beliefs in any God this earth doesn't belong to anyone.
The human nature is to possess, control and bang their chest loudly is at the root of this problem.
I am quite sure many can justify their terrible behavior by saying it's about surviving either by food, water, other necessities and because other will try to take it all away.
These urges aren't going to fade anytime soon and outer space will be the next conquest for sure, sadly that battle has already begun.
A few races of people got it right throughout history, the Native Americans and Aborigines just to name a few. Both have been destroy to the core.
Both have felt first hand the power of greed and human urge to claim rights to land that wasn't their in the first place and greatly suffered.
Sadly, the clock can't be turned back, only lessons from our past can ensure an earth that can survive our human instincts.
We have past the point of living off the land, overpopulation is the sole reason. Reality has already foretold the truth, overpopulation isn't going to reverse itself without nature or us causing death in the million by some catastrophe.
Lastly, Religion hasn't help this situation either, since more people have died in the name of God then any natural disaster.
It's like people don't even follow their own belief system, they rather come up with more justifications to absolved themselves from the truth.

Regardless of the name on the deed, the government collects an annual rent.
The land has seen so many come and go. Perhaps tremors are just the land chuckling at us, earthquakes its belly laughs.

I smiled when I read this, because I remember a few years ago my father saying...
"WE dont really own anything, we barrow it for a while in our name.. it will still be here when we are gone, for the next person to barrow it for a while."

According to some.....the ancient Sumerians claimed that the earth belongs to some galactic characters, who are coming back to collect the gold that we humans are supposed to have been mining for them.
They're gonna be some kind of mad when they get here and a lot of y'all have their gold on your hands, necks, and in your mouths.
Here's why I think it may not be like that.....if these space dudes can travel from wherever it is they're at now, to here, back and forth like that.....I suspect they wouldn't need our help mining some gold.
In any case, I don't wear gold, so I'm not worried about it.

sadly to say, we live at the good nature of our government. they could declare public domain, and there ain't one thing we could do about it. precedents of that all through history. in my opinion war is just mother nature culling the herd. a natural phenomenon of reducing the world's population. it is so sad. many have come and died and gone on to??..... among the living i die, among the dead i live. its a very wistful day today for many. i'm trying to keep my spirits up. blue cheer sang, summertime blues. gonna take my case to the united nations. if i could i'd travel in time to 1967 with my high school wife, and just stay there. refuse to return.

We own nothing. Just like ttomtarr says:we're all paying rent. The state owns your house even if it's paid for. Miss a property tax payment and the scumbags take it from you. I'm just glad the damned politicians haven't figured out how to tax a person for every breath they take!

I do, Ed; thank you for asking. I own the land, all the land, and I want you all off my planet by midnight or there'll be hell to pay!
Hell owns the mortgages, I'm afraid!

What land is owned, was effectively stolen by forebears We have to eviolve to a point, where we learn to share because that is the only way for all of us. Kudos

And the land belongs to the person or persons,,, who takes the land,,, scratches a boundry in the dirt,,, and holds it by force.
It may not be right in a Utopia,,,,, but it's real.
Ask the Zebra,, who owns the land?
No one owns the land sir,,, we all share.
Then why are you not walking over there?
There are freaking lions over there. What, do you think I'm an idiot. And so,,, on that day,,,, the lions own the ground the pride squats on.
Unless of course an elephant comes along.
You don't think animals are territorial,,, over the land,,,, ask yourself,,, why do cat's spray,,, why do deer scrape trees,,, why do dogs pee 10 little squirts, instead of one big one,,,, get the picture.
And it's all natural,,, religion has nothing to do with it.

There are no trailers behind a hearse, no pockets in a shroud.
Our "ownership" of anything is at best, a temporary deal.

Maybe I'll be there to shake your hand Maybe I'll be there to share the land That they'll be giving away When we all live together.
question though, who are "they" taking the land from to give it away?
